I'm going into the weekend feeling strongly that Hurley stays. So much work putting together the three-peat team. And, he's a pretty wholesome dude. No way, LA. Northeast is where he is at.

UConn will come out of this ready to react better when the NBA calls.

It's UConn. A great pick. :)

UConn can not come close to 8/100 guaranteed. The school can't afford 8/50 guaranteed. College sports are getting less financially lucrative for schools, not more, with the House settlement, and UConn simply can't afford to pay a coach that much. It would decimate the budget.

Thank Hurley for a great run, wish him the best in LA, and next man up.

Do you think there’s any fat in a state university budget? The money is there. I’d question if the will is there to find it and get it.

A bit OT but can we a pinned post on how to embedd Twitter? Lots of duplicate posts due to Twitter links just showing as x.com (Thanks Elon) and people not realizing stuff has already been shared. Also would prefer not having to open a separate tab to read the info

This is a lot of money, for coaching basketball, and probably be less work than being a college coach. Hurley can take $100MM guaranteed, get fired in 3 years when LA fails in its post-Lebron rebuild, and coach anywhere he wants. He could coach high school ball if he wanted after this contract.

The significant new ones they would add is 25-26 when 75% of salaries are off the books.

Unless Lebron is off the books completely you’re not getting another max salary to go along with the $60,000,000+ you owe AD. If Lebron isn’t on the team then you’re not contending. Lakers don’t have draft capital to rebuild. AD isn’t good enough to lead a team on his own. Lakers are in no mans land. It’s worse than being bad.

All the Lakers have is the hope that players will just want to play in LA because...reasons. It worked with Lebron. We will see.

With the new TV deal, ADs cap hit is going to be like 20 percent of the overall cap.

Depends on who is paying for it. All the funds don’t have to come from the state.
I also think the extra money will need to come from donors. Think the school has maxed out with what they can offer without a faculty revolt, remember there might still be staff reductions due to budget cuts.

This board needs to make up their mind. It's not about the money or he's using the Lakers as leverage and we need to up our offer. I do not think it's about leverage. I do think we need to up our offer however. It's not all about the money, but it's always kinda about the money. They don't have to match but they have to do better and dig deep. He needs to be in Self range and at least jump over Calipari. He has earned it. So have the assistants.
Hey go easy on us… all we’ve gotten so far is a Woj bomb, and some Fanta tweets which may or may not be made up BS. Oh and we got Geno adding his $0.02 as always

I just wonder how much leverage Hurley has after the Kentucky saga? How much more can he reasonably ask for?

All you do is swap out the 'x.com' with 'twitter.com' when you paste the shareable URL.

When DH announces he’s staying, one of these bottles is going right to my face. Probably the one on the far right, def not the one signed by Clingan.
