They’ve also had some brutal first round exits when they’re one of the 5 best teams in the country, and usually higher than that (a 1 seed).
Kansas wins their conference every single year and has been as good as any school during the regular season which is evidenced by all their #1 and #2 seeds. Their exits as the #1 overall, #1 and #2 seeds is also incomparable to any other program as evidenced by their lone title in the past 30 years. Duke has won 5 and Uconn has won 4 in that timepan. So has Duke, so has UConn
Since 1967, as a seed of #5 or better, UConn has lost only one early game. That was 2008 in the second round, in OT, vs SDSUSo has Duke, so has UConn

Junior year Polley should fill that void nicely though!

Agreed! Could end up starting at the 3 alongside Akok if we miss on Precious too.I think Jr year Polley is going to compete at the PF position and Akok will have to bring his A game every day. Polley will be making shots next year. I know Akok can shoot but comp goes up. Better contesting of shots. Polley knows the speed of college ball.
Yes. AJ blew out his knee and we lost on a last second jumper. I remember Jim Jones grandson having a big game.It was actually against University of San Diego, and a key player went down with an ACL tear early.

Yep. Got some nice big guards too (Bouknight, Adams) if we end up continuing with the three guard look. Lot of versatility, especially if we land on some of these 4/5* front court guys.If Wilson puts on some weight he could start at 3 next year. Nice to potentially have options and guys pushing each other.
Bouknight and Sid competing for that wing spot or Bouknight at the 2 over CV? Achiuwa would be a shoe in at the stretch 4 but could play 3 as well his ball handling has greatly improved, he might be a guard in the league. If Wilson puts on some weight he could start at 3 next year. Either you are mixing the present and future tense together, or the answer is to beat Kansas in the NCAA Tournament while he's playing for them.If he starts and gets PT on Kansas how do we counter that?
Amazing you would post this but not all that surprising.
I’m not sold that CV will be back even though he should be. If he is back, nobody will work harder to stay in the starting lineup. Nobody works harder.Bouknight and Sid competing for that wing spot or Bouknight at the 2 over CV? If we land both Kofi and Precious imagine those Memphis games!? Hurley vs Penny, Kofi vs Wiseman, Precious vs Watford. would be WILD.
Quite frankly, if Sid got committed to the gym, Chief thinks he could also become a decent shooter. With his ability to elevate, he will inherently get some good looks. He does need to work on some shooting mechanics including body mechanics - squaring up and not leaning forward or backwards. Greater strength will help those body mechanics too. His release needs some work but doesn’t have a terrible starting point. If Wilson puts on some weight he could start at 3 next year. Nice to potentially have options and guys pushing each other.

Remind me the point of this debate? In the eyes of a recruit, early exits mean very little. In the eyes of a recruit, Kansas holds a lot of weight.Lack of NCs stinks, but early exits haven’t been that bad. Lost the final in 91, 03 and 12. These are the sweet 16s. 1986, 1987, 1988, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018. Six in the 90s, seven in the 0’s and six so far this decade.
Failing to win with Wilt, that was hard to imagine. Michigan State has done even less with its high seeds.
So talking with a few of my connected friends at Kansas, Kofi is their last resort. They see him as an extreme liability for PnR defense, and dont think he will contribute much on the offensive end because he won't physically dominate other colleges front courts like he can currently. David McCormack (similar rating and build as Kofi) is struggling to see the floor because he is raw and slow on the PnR.
It really just sounds like Kofi wanted another blue blood to put on his list of final five.
I just hope KU doesnt drag him along and make him wait till they exhaust all their front court options, and he waits till late spring to announce.
