I would assume that logically if she isn't able to practice for at least a month that would mean her season is over. That is terrible news. There are only a few games left of the regular season.
I suspect those dolls are located in other parts of the country.Like I said in one of my previous posts, I don't know which one of you guys got the dolls with UConn jerseys and sticking them with needles , but stop already.
Doubtful she is done for the year, although stamina may be an issue when she returns. However there are a lot of degrees of mono and she may well be able to work out for the latter part of the 3-6 weeks. Often the biggest issue governing a return is having the spleen return to normal. When my daughter had mono, she was able to work out for a couple of weeks prior to being cleared for contact sports. In total she was out a month.
As for others getting it, mono is not very contagious except for a possible situation involving players sharing the same water bottle

The problem is that strategy will be to be very physical and hope Geno needs to put in the walk-ons due to fouls. My biggest worry now.So number 9 just got a lot more difficult but let's not forget who we still have. Stewie, Bria, Stef, and MoJeff. With some luck BB will soon be ready to play. The biggest concerns now are fouls and fatigue. I trust Geno will manage both. I also think the 2 walk-ons will contribute minutes for a breather if nothing else. Like someone else mentioned earlier in the thread, if they win this one it will be real special.
One of the horde tweeted that her elbow is not an issue. Is there any mention of her left elbow? May we assume that is not significantly injured?
Which they are very careful to NOT do in sports, so that won't be a problem.Doubtful she is done for the year, although stamina may be an issue when she returns. Yup. The Louisville strategy: foul, foul, and foul because you know they won't/can't call them all. Pack the paint and force UConn into shooting 3's all night and hope they are off. If UConn gets up 15-20 against anyone but Louisville, they need to use Lawlor and Pulido heavily if for no other reason than to give starters a rest and avoid injury. The problem is that strategy will be to be very physical and hope Geno needs to put in the walk-ons due to fouls. It's a crazy illness. I knew someone in high school that had it and they basically could only withstand half a school day for a few months, never mind play a sport.John Altavilla @jaltavilla 33m
#UConnwomen fans may recall that Heather Buck developed mono in Nov. 2008, her freshman year. She ended up redshirting after not playing
Exactly. As bad as the news is we need to remember that Uconn easily dispatched Maryland and Penn St. without Kaleena and Morgan. I think we're ok until the Suite 16 especially if Banks is 100% by the Louisville game.
Actually I like it that it's Senior Night at Louisville. It's been my experience that a lot of kids really don't play overtly well when they're honored on Senior Night. Typically, they really struggle. That would seem to point to an advantage for UConn who needs something, with the horrible luck they've had with injuries all season long.Yeah, I doubt we see Kaleena again this season. I still wish her a speedy recovery, as someone who had mono, I know how awful it can be. The faster she recovers, the better.
Like I said, I think there's still a 90% chance UConn gets to the FF undefeated. Most of that 10% is the chance for Louisville to win at home in two weeks. I think UConn will have the edge in the AAC tournament, no matter what happens at Louisville in two weeks. The tournament is in Connecticut and will be a virtual home game for UConn, I think it will be much more likely for UConn to lose at Louisville and win in the AAC than the other way around. And, I think there is very little chance UConn will lose BOTH games to Louisville.
I'm much less concerned about the AAC tournament than I am about an away game at Louisville to close out the regular season. It is also senior night for Shoni, Slaughter, Asia Taylor, and Tia Gibbs. This will be a much tougher game than the AAC tournament.

Obviously nobody knows... including the doctors. Based on what I have read, mono is one of those diseases that can last for two weeks or many months depending on the condition of the spleen and one's stamina level. And all of this is complicated when the person participates in a contact sport. I'm not surprised by the wide range of 'predictions' and opinions. Only time will tell how serious KML's particular bout with this nasty thing is. Wishing her all the best.So far I have heard that she is done for the season, can't possibly be effective, that she should be able to give some minutes in 6 weeks and several other guesses on what will happen.
I'm not telling folks what to post, but for the life of me I don't see the point until we hear more.
A little patience goes a long way.
I'm just saying that since we don't know, why isn't the 3-6 week timeframe that's bee reported be enough until we get more details.Obviously nobody knows... including the doctors. I hear you but it's human nature to speculate on the unknown.I'm just saying that since we don't know, why isn't the 3-6 week timeframe that's bee reported be enough until we get more details.

To be fair, I said it's "possible she's essentially done for the year". Not sure if that's what you are referring to, but I had mono in college, and was not 100% for almost 2 months. Of course, I never was an elite level athlete, nor did I have the resources of the UCONN medical staff on my side...So far I have heard that she is done for the season, can't possibly be effective, that she should be able to give some minutes in 6 weeks and several other guesses on what will happen.
