Nelson would you prefer the Big East? There is an anger associated with you as it comes to anyone wanting out of the BE.Defending your idiotic fantasy by pretending I am Val Ackerman is one of the stupidest bits on this board.

i think if he were in charge, he'd turn down an invite by the SEC to stay in the BE.Why do you want UConn to be Seton Hall?
The fact that Hurley feels like he has to schedule ~ 5 top 10 non-con games a year tells you all you gotta know about the Big East.i think if he were in charge, he'd turn down an invite by the SEC to stay in the BE.
The further the CBB world changes, the less I feel attached to the BE.

When has anything that has happened with conferences in the last quarter century (whether it be realignment/expansion, TV contracts, and now PE deals) EVER helped us? At best this development is neutral or taken more pessimistically a negative for us since conferences can get cash infusion without our inclusion. PE can suggest to bring us into a particular conference, but until that P4 conference invite is actually signed and sent, I'll just count random dust particles in the air. ^_^Can't hurt us; might help us.
worst of all, it's boring.i think if he were in charge, he'd turn down an invite by the SEC to stay in the BE.

Utterly - even with a decent portal haul, still incredibly boring. Legitimately zero NBA talent in this league, which is a big driver of excitement. We tend to lose all household names or kids with NBA potential, then restock with some decent players that I've never heard of. I know PC had a haul, but tend to think they lost the two most exciting players (Vaaks & Jones).worst of all, it's boring.

Would you prefer staying in the BE?You two have been guaranteeing a Big 10 bid for a long time. Where is it?

No one is expecting the B10. Everyone is hoping for some shot at the B12 or ACC. Why are we even talking about the B10?I don't think the SEC is out of the question either given the fact that the ACC just locked down its membership. I think it is a good idea for UConn and Rutgers to lock arms here though.
I said UConn should try for the SEC in 2011. There is no topic related to realignment where any of the Big East haters have ever been in front of me on. The posters like you who whine endlessly about the Big East conference have no better ideas and just want to complain. We heard you the first 1,000 times.
There is no one that supports UConn that does not wish we were full members of the Big 10. That is never going to happen without a seismic shake up of college athletics. Complaining about it five times a day is simply trolling UConn fans on a UConn board, and is poisonous to dialogue on this site.

You spent hours talking down SEC hoops, yet it's a conference we'd all rather be in.
The seismic shake ups have been occurring regularly. Not sure you recall the P12 getting blown up a few years ago. TV contracts go through renewals, GORS expire.I spent hours discussing the stupidity of using efficiency rating models for tournament selection. If you can't keep up, don't try.
Replace "Big 10" with "ACC" or "Big 12" and it is all still true. There is no scenario in which UConn is invited to join those leagues as a full member without a seismic shake up of college sports. You know how I know that? Because it would have already happened if it was going to happen.
Duke just showed that. Maybe that will give ammunition for Yormark when he negotiates the TV deal.If conference realignment is going to heat up again, I would expect it to start in 2027 or 2028 if the Big 10 is going to expand. Why 2027 or 2028? First, it would probably take 2 years to move from one conference to another.
Next, here are the conference media deals end dates:
Big 10: 2029/2030
Big 12: 2030/2031
SEC: 2033/2034
ACC: 2035/2036
And, the ACC exit fee bottoms at $75 million in 2030/2031.
One other point that has not really been discussed about the NCAA Tournament which I think is relevant to conference realignment. Emmert decided to extend the NCAAT media rights with CBS and Turner back in 2016 through 2032 and he decided to not bring the rights to the open market or take a short term deal. Just like what happened to the ACC media rights, Emmert reacted to the media rights uncertainty in 2016 and locked the NCAAT media rights into a LT deal that is below market instead of doing a short term extension. Why is this important? The NCAAT media rights may be undervalued by 50% when they come up for renewal in 2032 which would highlight how valuable basketball media rights are. And, don't forget that Charlie Baker dramatically undervalued the NCAA women's tournament media rights at ~$65 million per year through 2032. Maybe Yormark is right about the value of basketball.

Hop aboard the can't wait to get out train - the BE is hopefully only a placeholder until someone throws us a lifeline.
The BE is the BE, a bunch of regional scrappy private schools looking to stay relevant the best they can in a landscape that they don't fit in anymore. Yes, it's all we have right now, but we are singularly keeping it afloat.

RMEYour train is absolute poison. It has turned every board on this site into a cesspool of vitriolic attacks against our league, and by extension, UConn. Players and their parents come to this site when they are considering playing here. Current and potential sponsors come here to see where the fan base is as they consider their commitment to UConn. Prospective students come here. Fans absolutely come here, and all these groups have to read your perpetual “this sucks” posts about the athletic program.
What do they see? An endless stream of complaints about something we have no control over. An endless stream of trashing the school’s athletic situation, and that it is a lost cause unless there is a miracle rescue by the ACC, which will never happen. This litany of hating undermines the school and sends the message to anyone reading the board that they should run, not walk, away from the UConn athletic program.
I often say that you and the rest of your gaggle of haters are worse than the worst trolls from other schools. When a non-fan troll shows up, at least they are obviously a troll. When a huge chunk of the school’s own fan base makes thousands of posts about how UConn’s athletic situation is hopeless, it resonates with those reading it.
Those of you that desperately want to support a P2 program, check out the Rutgers board. They could use more fans. Those of you that want to continue to pretend to be UConn fans, just shut the fudge up the conference situation. None of you have an ounce of insight that has not already been posted at least a hundred thousand times before.
RME
You think this message board has that much influence over sponsors and students? Lol.
The only think interesting about your posts is uncovering the root cause of what makes you so adhered to this league we've outgrown, that is going no where, where even our own AD makes it vividly clear we'll take the first thing that comes our way. Yes, we are stuck in it and it's better than the AAC. We don't have to cling to every possible back end program climbing a KP point, or how the SEC is snipering KP points.
Most preseason top 25's have 2 BE teams - UConn (which registers more like a BE team that can't wait to not be), and one real BE team.
