I look for the SEC to reverse course again and support the B1G's proposal of 4 guaranteed playoff teams every year. Check out this NY Times article discussing the difficulties of the future SEC 9-game schedules, plus required 10th game vs. a P4 team. If that happens, the B1G will have their cake and eat it too - getting the SEC to play 9 conference games
and getting the guaranteed playoff structure it has long advocated for.....
The SEC is moving to a nine-game schedule next season and revealed who teams will play for the next four season.

"Still, every team can probably pick out at least one year and be concerned. Auburn, for instance, has a 2028 schedule that looks brutal: Road games at Alabama, Georgia, Florida, LSU and Arkansas.
That same year, LSU has a five-game road schedule of Alabama, Texas, Ole Miss, Arkansas and Mississippi State.
In 2027, Ole Miss has a five-game road schedule of LSU, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi State.
There are plenty of other examples. And in addition to that the SEC is still requiring teams to play at least one non-conference game against Notre Dame or a team from the ACC, Big Ten or Big 12.
Given all that, don’t be surprised if coaches and athletic directors lobby commissioner Greg Sankey to get even more protections in the CFP selection process."
