Not sure if Jason is key but
Lol, paying 9 figures to make what is essentially a lateral move.

Unpopular opinion around here but you take a bball invite with football scheduling benefits. The downfall is obviously travel and men’s soccer. They might be able to stay in the BE or will have to get an affiliation with the A10 or CAA. We’ve also seen what happens when our bball team flies multiple hours to every game.
It comes down to money and even a quarter share is way more money than we’d get in the BE.
Right. Baseball will only get stronger tooThe "basketball only" is a misnomer. Like you said it's all sports but football. And, if the money is good, and there is an agreement for 4-6 football games, with a carrot dangling for full membership, you have to do due diligence.
Not preferred, but sure, depending upon the numbers. Give me that deal for a dollar less than an ACC full share and I would take it gladly. Give me the same deal for a dollar more than a big east full share and I would turn it down in a heartbeat. As always, the devil is in the details.Unpopular opinion around here but you take a bball invite with football scheduling benefits. The downfall is obviously travel and men’s soccer. Yeah, I don't believe FSU or Clemson are looking at moving to the Big 12. Financially it makes no sense.
That said, you know me, I always like to play devil's advocate. The Big 12 and ACC are #3 and #4, or #4 and #3. If FSU, Clemson, or 1 or 2 others moved to the Big 12, I think the Big 12 would be closer to the P2 than people give it credit for. And the ACC would be closer to G6. I think I give a lot more weight to the Corner 4 than most people do. And the B1G would still not be in Florida or Texas.
Here's an interesting article about recruiting in Texas which I found via the Jason Scheer account.

Use Riders Field for games. How dare you assume that she's a sure "sure thing."You're thinking that you're going to get laid on prom night. What am I missing? Why is that a mystery?

FSU and Clemson to the XII would be the natural progression of consolidation. Maryland made a lateral move but had the extreme good fortune of doing it sooner rather than later, and a lot cheaper. Perhaps
Trying to be diplomatic with the ACC because it may be the only conference we misfits may be invited to.You lost all credbility with whatever else you wrote after stating ACC>B1G was a lateral move.
There may be some truth to this from a conference perspective, but ultimately, I believe that the TV Networks are holding all the cards in realignment because they control the purse strings. If the combination of FOX/CBS/NBC went to the B1G and told them that we really want you to add FSU and Clemson, I believe that they would be added for the right price. Nobody at this point is getting added if they are dilutive to the conference payouts for current members. ABC/ESPN may be even more prickly about helping them out because of the litigation in their wholly owned ACC Conference. This has been in the back of my mind since it started. Why would a conference want to take in two teams that are willing sue the buhjeesus out of their conference because they "feel like" they've been slighted? It's like someone saying "I divorced them for every red cent I could, took the house, took the kids, the dog AND the truck!!! Boy, looking around, is it me or has the dating scene really dried up now a days...?"
Rule 1a for FSU
In fairness to the non-key tweeters:
Greg Flugaur had a long rant on his show a couple of weeks ago about FSU being disruptive and non-collegial and how that does not go over well in the Big 10. This was after one of the FSU AD's statements about how FSU was worth so much more money,
Also, both Flugaur and Swaim have said that the Big 10 does not want FSU. Swaim has said that the Big 10 and SEC don't want FSU or Clemson.
There are losers in Conference Realignment, no doubt. UConn is the poster child for that. As it turns out, billybud does fit right in here on the Conference Realignment board.Rule 1a for FSU
Why? Because those two conferences are the reason FSU filed the lawsuit in the first place. FSU isn't trying to get every red cent. It's more like trying to divorce your wife without paying criminal amounts of alimony so you can marry someone else. That someone else isn't going to say "hold on, this guy really wants me but is willing to divorce his wife so he can marry me, that's a red flag." I don't buy it. One of them would take FSU if FSU becomes available. This has been in the back of my mind since it started.
