Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

Because there won't be any revenue. At the very best you're looking at Georgia Tech, Wake, BC and Syracuse remaining and at that point the conference is dead and they'll have to redo a media deal.
The ACC isn't gonna die, it's just gonna change and adapt. Did the B12 die when Texas and OU left? No, they adapted and are fine - and those 2 brands are much bigger than FSU/Clemson and make up a much larger part of their football viewership than these two do for the ACC

Whatever revenue we get from a new ACC will still be at least 3-4x as much as the current BE deal

Agreed, UConn will only support winners because that's northeast culture. But I also agree with others that the athletic department in the Hathaway era had absolutely no idea what it was doing.
Define winners?
In 6 -7 AAC seasons we won 11 games
The first few years with a 3-2 4 conference wins , not exactly a winning team we were averaging in the high 20K for attendance .
Playing in the hated AAC .
We had 1-2 conference win in the last 3 4 years , that’s not bad that’s pathetic.and attendance fell off the table.
I applaud the brave football fans that stuck with that program . Those guys are special
Even as a middle of the road but competition AAC team averaging 30k was doable . If we were competing for AAC titles you wouldn't be able to get a ticket .
To say our fans only support a winner is hyperbole, Also we have to play Marquis schools is an exaggeration . If we’re playing good exciting football the FBS opponent is irrelevant.
Nobody should have had to endure the second Randy travesty.?

Delusional. Why are you ignoring what happened to the PAC12?

I don't see who is going to pay them anything north of $10m. The AAC gets $7 and the MWC gets $4
I view those two leagues as a floor and not a ceiling. You don't think the predicted ACC remnants have more value than the new ACC which is even more dreadful than the old one? And comparing the remnants to the mountain west conference? Puh-lease.

The PAC12 is different. Schools like Tulane, UConn, USF weren't looking for a new home. I am confident the ACC will survive.

Because I'm not?

The big boys from the Pac went to the B1G and the leftovers went to the ACC. The big boys from the ACC will go to the B1G/SEC and where are the leftovers gonna go? You even stated yourself they weren't moving anywhere

The conference is going to be split between the B1G, SEC and Big XII. Anyone worth associating with will be gone. Why you want to pal around with a bunch of losers after their conference dies is beyond me. Can't wait for a Tuesday night 10:00PM tip vs Oregon State!

Man it's a good thing some of the guys like JMick and Zoo in here aren't our ADs. The ACC or B12 commissioners could offer us an invite and these guys would probably decline on the basis that "we aren't good enough for them"

I said we could go to the ACC OR B12, ya know where I said we were more likely to join considering the commish is pushing for basketball and we are a blue blood on the verge of another chip

We need to have some confidence in the future. I know all of us have gotten many kicks in the gut, especially if we are UConn football fans. But either the ACC, or less likely the B12, may send us an invite soon. It's not for a foreclosure sale. It's to be a member at one of the top conferences in the nation.

Ok at this point you have to be a troll

I've been advocating for the B12 for multiple pages at this point and UConn is definitely closer to joining it than the ACC

I only talked about the ACC because either would be a good landing spot and I've been trying to justify it, although I still prefer the B12

Buddy, the Big XII had their chance to take us and didn't. It was all very public

I would take the ACC flotsam in most scenarios. Yes, there is risk. No need to hammer me with that risk- I get it.

Needs to be backed by an iron clad contract though! Oh wait….

That's the problem. If one gets out they can all get out and then there's nothing preventing a total collapse. It's why you can't do it unless there's some new legal way to bind everyone together

We were 100% a lock if not for all the four corner schools joining as Jamie Pollard revealed. There is a timeline where UConn is in the B12 and the presidents approved it, maybe after a bit of initial deliberation. Yormark himself never disqualified UConn like he did other schools, they just hit 18 members to match the P2 and paused to acclimate all the new members

Maybe our ratings and a deep March Madness run will have them coming back, after all they are essentially a basketball conference now. If I wanted to expand and reach a new lucrative market I know who I'm picking

"We were a lock until they had better options. But next time when they have better options it'll be different!"

The Big XII presidents were obsessed with adding more "power five schools"

That is all they cared about.

Except we are more desirable to them then P5s OSU, Wazzu, and Calford who actually have Football success and fans. I didn't see them even making a pitch for those schools, much less the presidents agreeing on it like we had and they got left in the dust

If the B12 were to expand at this very moment, it's obvious they would choose UConn considering that was the plan

But they're not going to expand right now. They're going to expand when FSU and Clemson kill the ACC. How do you not get this? I'm surprised you're intelligent enough to make an account but can't think 2 steps ahead

As I have said reiterated countless of times:

Let's not forget the fact that UConn is 4th highest nationally for basketball revenue now, even ahead of Kansas, Kentucky, IU, and Louisville

They don't care about that. They've never cared about it. They never will. How long have you been following this? A week?

That's what got us consideration from them last summer and we nearly squeaked into the B12. Is it really to crazy to expect that an even better season would get their attention again? I don't think so

Who are the top 3? Is there a ranking list somewhere online? I'd be curious to see it.

Some of them do. Maybe okay state and TTU don’t.
Exactly like they obviously did care, we were going to be added

Now we've gotten even more views, attention, and revenue from last year but I'm crazy for thinking it's worth something?

Every move in realignment has been about making more money. It has nothing to do about what the conferences think of themselves but about how they can maximize their revenue. It comes down to a simple question:

Does having UConn basketball in your conference will make you more money than not having them?

The answer is clearly yes
really? The Big 12 didn't think so

UConn basketball is a top 10 brand in the sport. Heck it might be top 5. In a world where brands matter more than ever, burning down UConn basketball would literally be lighting money on fire.
Such an obviously large brand. I don't think you understood this clearly enough. What you think about basketball does not matter. You are not invited to their party. You will be left out. The party is the P2 and they will exclude everybody that isn't them.

So there's a timeline where something that didn't happen, happened. How interesting.

Yes, a timeline, as in an alternate reality where an event replaces another in case you've never heard of this common expression used to describe hypothetical scenarios.

In this case, Utah doesn't join and there are 17 members. With the prior agreed-upon UA-ASU-UConn plan, UConn is added as the final member and this round of expansion is over.

Hope this helps.
