My point about good guards was that the only time I've seen Cuse go outside the zone recently is when an inferior team (like say Albany) is staying close. In those cases they switch to an aggressive press. That works against teams without good guards but you will rarely(never) see them try to press against high majors.

Cuse gets a good amount of highly ranked high schoolers. The proven is they don't always develop. Coleman and Christmas being the latest examples.

You mention the 2004 team as an example of NBA guys and I agree but some comes from the development of the players. Only Charlie was a McDAA and drafted. Okafor/Boone/Armstrong were not highly rated and even Gordon was only in the 40s or so. The Cuse system doesn't allow for a lot of growth to s om.

The guy is saying the 2011 team was an exception when it comes to the NBA--he's not even aware that after next year, Kemba, Lamb and Shabazz will be in the NBA. Hardly an exception at all.

Besides, Kevin Ollie is proving himself as a recruiter.

I wasn't even bringing conference affiliation into it. If you want to trumpet the AAC, have at it hoss. Yes, UConn played Cuse last year. I guess we have you to thank for "toughening" us with a challenging reg season game which prepared us to make the Final Four.

You don't know what Uconn is doing, but just spent the better part of your afternoon on a Uconn board. Congrats dude. #1 in February. You guys can hang a banner and make another t-shirt for it. Maybe you can sell pieces of the net for every game you play in Feb while #1. Let's get creative here.

#1 in February congrats........... I know that is a huge deal up there. I hear you guys make sweet shirts to celebrate it too! Try being #1 at the end of the year, like UConn was in 2011, 2004, and 1999. It is nice to have little brothers and give them something to aspire to be.

This is the best point. Uconn may be in the inferior conference, but we have successfully replaced our Hall of Fame coach with Kevin Ollie who has already established himself tactically, as a motivator and a recruiter and our future looks great regardless of conference affiliation.

Everyone says you want to be the guy after the guy when it comes to replacing a legend but UCONN has proven that wrong with KO. Me thinks Mike (?) Hopkins is not quite the answer. Good luck with that.

I don't understand why Cuse loser's come here to herald yourself and your classless program. You guys are historically the highest rated program that always sucks in the post season and embarrasses themselves. How many times have you guys underachieved when the post season started. Year after year, choke, choke, choke, choke, choke, choke, etc.,ect. You've won so many close games this year against garbage and escaped again the other night on a shot that was less than a one in thirty to go in from 35 feet to save an embarrassing loss. Didn't you have a pretty decent lead with a couple of minutes left in the game? Why recruits still decide to play up their in the boondocks for Jim Boeheim boggles my mind. Maybe he invites them to his house so they could ogle his beautiful wife, who obviously is blind and doesn't know any better than to end up with Mr. Personality himself. How many of his players ever really make or last in the NBA? He's had a few successes but they've been in spite of his stewardship rather than because of it. Carmelo Anthony got out before Boeheim could screw him up and that's his one and only championship. Wow, one championship on the back of a one and done who he did little or nothing to help improve. That says a lot, doesn't it???? A classless school that betrays alliances and contributed along with Pitt to destroy the best basketball conference in the history of our country. Classy man, Boheim!
 
I'm just not sure why a cuse fan would spend so much time on a uconn msg board... I know we're interesting guys but c'mon, you got to have better things to do

You realize that KenPom was crapping on your road game schedule, prior to the Pitt game? Overall SOS is decidedly irrelevant, as is overall record. I fit get why Cuse fans just don't own this. It's the way Boeheim schedules and likes it. It works well for you guys. You get mid season #1 tshirts and the occasional trip to a final four.

It's like owning being a sissy zone playing school, it's part of what makes Cuse exCuse.

NC State is now about as good as Siena……….but keep finding a way to win those huge games…………potentially the worst #1 team on the Top 25 in a very long time. Tough year for the voters……..but hey it sells Tee Shirts somewhere :rolleyes:

Hypothetical........... round of 16, UConn vs Syracuse at MSG. Which fan base would be more nervous? Not us. I would welcome that matchup anytime.

I get it. It must be hard living in the shadow of a program that gave you a 30 year head start. The facts are that our HOF Coach accomplished far more in half the time, our player development and NBA pedigree is like comparing apples to oranges(pun intended), and quite frankly, our blood is a lot more blue.
