It is February 12, 33 days from the ACC championship game, and the Orange have played five true road games and none of them were particularly scary. In theory the most difficult of the bunch was a game against St. John’s at Madison Square Garden, which might not be considered a particularly hostile venue for New York’s College Team. The other road games were against #70 Miami FL, #104 Wake Forest, #151 Boston College and #209 Virginia Tech.

Finally, someone calls this out. Syracuse does this nearly yearly, but this year's might be the worst yet.

In the past with the BE they were able to get away with this stuff, but not now. Again it brings back the memory of a great conference. Back in the day all BE teams could at some point (i.e. season) have weak scheduling and still be ready come tourney time, including the BET.

I would be surprised if cuse lasts long in the Tourney this year as this can surely haunt them and backfire. Its a new day.

you guys probably aren't smart enough to understand this - but the season isn't over yet - they still have to go to Duke, UVA, Maryland, Florida State and Pittsburgh tonight..

admittedly, they don't play juggernauts like Houston, UCF, and Rutgers on the road anymore, but somehow they are still managing to survive..

It's Ken Pomeroy that's not smart enough to understand it. They are his comments. You should educate him using your vast knowledge of basketball.

Those are IC? What were talking about is SU's fear of tough OOC competition esp on the road!JB is infamous for evading tough games.

Baylor, Indiana, Minnesota, Cal, Villanova, St. John's were all OOC - btw - they were 6-0 in those games.

You mean the Florida State team that is 5-7 in the ACC and lost at home to the 3-8 Miami? Thats one of your tough away games? Or are you considering the Pitt team that needed 2 overtimes at home to beat Virginia Tech (1-10 in the ACC) one of those super tough away games? Well you do have UVA and Duke for your road test this year. Of course the ACC wouldn't let you avoid those games so you have to play them.

I'm surprised there isn't more starvation in Connecticut - because most of you guys aren't smart enough to be able to feed yourself.. Almost any true road game in a tough conference is difficult - even in the AAC - and especially in the ACC. The way the schedule has worked out - many of these are near the end of the year for SU.

Same held true in the OBE but you did'nt seem to mind ragging on RU who always gave JB fit's or AAC's Houston/UCF !!

please don't tell me you are a Rutgers fan discussing basketball.
I just hate the private school arrogance of BC/SU but you guys are the worst. You'll almost never see me on any BB board except WBB as I grew weary of the one and done primadonna's in MBB. Funny you think only SU guy's can talk hoops on a board ? Typical of the arrogance.

Cuse and JB have played a soft OOC, year after year. KPOM is hardly the first person to ever state that. The way the schedule has worked out probably isn't ideal for Cuse anyways but please don't use conference road games to make a point that you have tough road games. If your crappy football team wasn't better than our crappy football team you could never make that point. Please go back to your bizarro land board where you celebrate likes as if they are golden tickets.

like I said - every road game in a major conference is tough - even Rutgers and their cute little high school gymnasium was a tough place to play on occasion..

Quse is good. But their girly conference and the fact they will be tested very few times the remainder of the is year (Dook is vastly over rated) makes me think a mid-major is going to smack them in their pie hole in the NCAAs and they will not have an answer.

I'm shocked you're not dead, because you obviously can't read. Pomeroy is discussing Cuse's lack of true road games with teeth NOW, especially juxtaposed against some other teams.

Again, RIGHT NOW, in Sagarin, Cuse would *NOT* be favored @Pitt, @Duke, @UVA, and would be barely favored @FSU. If Cuse wins all those, Pomeroy's point is moot.

Can someone name the last true road out of conference game against a P5 team that Syracuse played that was not a scheduled conference challenge (St Johns at MSG doesnt count)?

The main point is that JB has a soft OOC, year after year. You must get that. KPOM is hardly the first person to ever state that. If you think Duke is over-rated then you know nothing about basketball - right now they are playing as good as anybody in the country - they have the best player in the country and arguably the best coach

Embiid transferred?

Doesn't really matter since every good opposing player fouls out in Carrier Dome anyway
