Plum has just gotten an extended contract w/ the Aces, so she won't be part of the free agent sweepstakes in the coming offseason.

Aces shooting a brutal 1-9 behind the arc in Q1. Not sure how they are within 6 at this point.

Sun up 37-35 at the half. Seems like they should be ahead by a lot more than 2, but they got TO prone in Q2. Aces 2-15 behind the arc. Some of that is Connecticut's D...but mostly it's just continuing to miss open shots.

And there you go. Aces drain 3 straight 3's to start Q3. That COMPLETELY changes the complexion of the game. Plum just tied Hammon for a franchise record made 3's in a season. I think she'll break that one w/ 10+ games left. She's also on pace to become only the second player in league history to hit 100 in a season.

KP taking over w/ 10 points in less than 4 minutes, Aces up 10 now.

After heating up, Aces have gone cold again. 15 point lead sliced to 7.

Fools gold. Aces hit a few, but just jacking too many 3's. 7-30...thru Q3. On pace for 40 in a game? Yikes. Plum poured in 14 of her game high 22 in Q3, but Sun closed to within 6 at the end of the quarter.

Bonner hit a 3 to cut the lead to 1, but now it's back up to 9. Biggest difference in this game--Gray and Plum are killing the Sun guards. 37 points/12 assists compared to 18 pts/5 assists.

AT has been TERRIBLE today. No field goals, 8 turnovers. Just had a cheap shot elbow on Plum that took her out of the game.

edit--Never mind, KP gonna tough it out and keep playing.

Looking like the Aces and Sky are the teams to beat. Chicago is scary. Cooper dropped 23 and pulled down 14 boards. Meesseman, I have always loved her game, looked great in this game. She was just on a different level. Dallas could be a dangerous team down the stretch. 11-12 games left. Whoever playing that Dallas squad better bring their A game. Mabrey put Allenmand in the spin cycle with a sweet move and drained the 3 point shot!

The Sky are just so deep and don't rely on just one player. Against Atlanta Candace Parker scores 31pts and they win by 15. The next game at LA Parker scores 0 and they win by 12. Then they go to Dallas and win a close game while Vandersloot sits out. They have 6 players averaging double digits. Their bench with Stevens/Allemand/Gardner is deep and good.

Sun made it interesting, but Aces hold on. Plum/Gray/Wilson all w/ 20 or more.

With that, Seattle slips 1/2 game ahead of Connecticut for #3 in the standings.

I'll give a shout out to Gray. I'm far from her biggest fan, but she was really good today. 21 points, 9 assists, several of her dishes were sick. Really had control of this game, especially in the 2nd half.

AT did grab 14 rebounds and had 6 assists, but 9 TOs, only 1 FG and 5 points. With JJ being out they needed her to step up, and that is not what she did. Bonner got hot for a while but then disappeared. Heideman and Williams hit some 3's down the stretch to make it close.

The big story was TOs and points off TOs. Last I saw it was a huge 33-6 advantage for LV in that department. Game over.

That Chelsea Gray saved the Aces today. When the Sun was trapping Plum earlier in the game, that took the Aces out of their normal flow. Chelsea Gray's passing ability, decision making, and shot making was very helpful. The Aces are joy to watch. Coach Hammon letting the players have that freedom to play loose and it shows.

Meanwhile, my beloved Minnesota Lynx are struggling against the Mystics. We started off good. That 1st quarter looked great. 2nd quarter and now 3rd quarter, we just do not look that good. Which is sad considering we have, and still do, a chance to get into that 7th or 8th spot of the standings. Inch up a little bit each game, hopefully.

Yeah. Gray stepped up in this game. She had some really great passes.

Powers was insanely hot for 3-4 games, but that couldn't last. Jefferson's production has really fallen off a cliff recently too.

Continues to be fairly significant stratification. You've got 1-5, then a gap, 6-11 jammed together...then Indiana in a class of their own. Not the good kind of class though.

I've only been halfway watching. Seattle got off to a slow start, then took control by halftime. But they've let Indiana back in the game in Q3. Was down to 3 a second ago, but now back up to 7.

Stewie/Loyd/Ezi all in double figures, nobody else scoring for the Storm. Stewie has 19.

Cannon lighting it up w/ 14. She does that every once in a while.

Bird got a nasty poke in the eye in the first half, but she didn't have to come out of the game.

I was hoping that Powers found her shooting groove after that 34-point game against Phoenix the other day. But she struggled against Dallas and really didn't shoot much against Indiana. Really did not need her offensive game since McBride and Fowles had nice games going. Not sure what is going on with Mo Jeff.

I was hoping that my beloved Minnesota Lynx found their groove and was going to make a push to get Sylvia one last playoff run but with 9 or 10 games left, I do not think they can do it for Sylvia. That slow start, injuries, not having everyone back from overseas, and Sylvia getting hurt, really did not help much. Oh well. They just have to finish the season out strong.

Seattle pulling away late. I've had the sound off the entire game. Charles got going, I didn't even realize it. I must've thought most of her buckets were actually Ezi. Stewie w/ a game high 25. Not gonna matter today, but Bird and Gabby combining for 2 points is not good.

Storm now a full game up on Connecticut and only 2 games back of Chicago. Creeping up. Have a showdown with the Sky coming up soon.
