I’ve never seen that one, I do remember the game where Katie Lou Samuelson had the flu and stopped to puke in a bucket during the game, but to her credit she kept playing. The player stayed in the game after the first time it happened?
I guess the Coach and his teammates didn't want him sitting on the bench?

and in the gameHawkins going to have to get a lot tougher and more physical in the offseason.
I moved to Dallas 5 years ago and love the phrase, all y'all(s). It's sort of my inside joke on the culture down here. Although in fairness, it's the rural culture, not so much the city culture. All y'all? Is that a new southern phrase? For extra emphasis?![]()
Concussions have nothing to do with toughness.Hawkins going to have to get a lot tougher and more physical in the offseason.
He doesn’t care. The concussion is really inconveniencing him and it fits his narrative.Concussions have nothing to do with toughness.
Only if he squats. If it’s a runner it’s just part of the game.Nope, a foul fragrance.
Thanks for the southern culture lesson. Never lived in the south, just visited many places. And I will be keeping it that way,I moved to Dallas 5 years ago and love the phrase, all y'all(s). It's sort of my inside joke on the culture down here. Although in fairness, it's the rural culture, not so much the city culture.
There are 4 variations:
- Y'all is singular. In one-to-one conversation.
- Y'alls is plural if you are to talking to 2-3 people.
- All y'all refers to the group you are part of.
- All y'alls refers to the near world.
In all seriousness, I use all y'all and y'alls frequently and people will sometimes ask who I am talking about.
Putting aside the heat. as a city, Dallas is great; so are other major cities like Austin and San Antonio. Diverse, accepting, progressive and friendly. The northern suburbs (Plano) are cool too. The rural areas are often a total culture shock.
I run my Twitter fan site, @SSN_UConn, out of Dallas because I wanted to stay close to my alma mater. If I could move back to the Northeast, I would do so in a heartbeat. My wife and son would entirely disagree.
Lol same thing I was thinking!!!Concussions have nothing to do with toughness.
Depending on the situation, I guess there are different buckets in a basketball game.I’ve never seen that one, I do remember the game where Katie Lou Samuelson had the flu and stopped to puke in a bucket during the game, but to her credit she kept playing.

Definitely. Hopefully we can get the Fri/Sun games and get 1 extra day. Seems like there’s a couple other guys on the tram that could use it as well.Huge.
Sounds promising. As I said above, once you're through the steps of the protocol and you feel you're ready then you can play.
Freshman Jordan Hawkins (concussion protocol) sat out for a third straight game. However, Hurley said that the shooting guard’s symptoms appear to have cleared up, and that he could be back in the fold next week.
Yeah I was watching closely before the game last night, he was kinda strutting around to the music and moving well and smiling. I took it as a good sign.Sounds promising. As I said above, once you're through the steps of the protocol and you feel you're ready then you can play.

Good to hear....Hawk would have made a big difference last night but smart to keep him out....if we get him next week that is Huge.Yeah I was watching closely before the game last night, he was kinda strutting around to the music and moving well and smiling. I took it as a good sign.
No, he didn't have a concussion in consecutive games.Did Hawkins have concussions in consecutive games? He must have had one because he was in protocol. But he was taken out of two games.
Given that, I would be very careful before rushing him back.
If he had one in the 1st game, he would have never played the 2ndDid Hawkins have concussions in consecutive games? He must have had one because he was in protocol. But he was taken out of two games.

Correct. The 2 games were 4 days apart so there's no way he could have gotten through concussion protocol in 4 days.If he had one in the 1st game, he would have never played the 2nd
I've gotten kids through it, but yes most people don't understand it.Correct. The 2 games were 4 days apart so there's no way he could have gotten through concussion protocol in 4 days.
Btw, since a lot of people seem to not be aware of what the steps are in concussion protocol here is a link to read. I'm sure the athletic department has a very specific protocol based on these general steps.

Did we ever confirm if he actually had a concussion? He practiced today and should be good to go for Thursday.
Hurley said he was going through the concussion protocol. So I guess he had a concussion. Then again concussions aren't like a broken bone or a sprained ankle. Sometimes there aren't specific symptoms like a headache or nausea so that you know you definitely have a concussion.Did we ever confirm if he actually had a concussion?
