Newsflash. When you get a QB that can pass the ball, he will be effective passing the ball. This one came from FCS Maine where its colder than here. No QB we ever brought in here that couldn't pass here when they saw the field went and tore it up elsewhere. You think that the fact that we threw really well in two games in mid-50s fall weather eliminates the beliefs that, in parts of the country, you have to be able to run effectively on cold late November days? That we’ve had one effective throwing QB in 22 years means that it’s as easy to recruit QBs in our region as it is other positions? O.K.
What a story JF is and has become. He is in multiple ways carrying the story of our program to the nation.

If year after year you are trotting out offenses where the intent seems to be run, run, pass, punt, QBs are not going to trip over themselves to come here. The 1st step is to design an offense that kids want to play in.

did we just take Nick's NIL money away? lol i never thought about this, but I cannot imagine he's raking in the cash by sitting on the bench.Yeah I remember going to the Rice game last year and vehemently asking for Joe Fagnano to get in and take out Evers. It was so obvious last year that Joe F. had a better chance to be good than Evers but all that NIL money we wasted was taking precendence.
I thought 7th year was insane but watching a Duke game earlier this year, they had an 8th year player. I always think of the animal house line. "Seven years of college down the drain"
But unless UConn is willing to pay $1 million a year or more they will have to get “lucky” in the portal with an up and coming QB. I think QBs are the hardest position to fill.Newsflash. The Rent is incredibly windy, I've found.KC is windier at all times than New England and it gets frigidly cold.
Nah. Be opportunistic. Joe had like a 1900yd passing season at an FCS school. Don't shop where the P4 is shopping or go get a P4 castoff that never got in the field. Your sample sizes are Fagnano vs Evers and Roberson. All 3 have shown ability when they played. Roberson is starting at Buffalo. I would look to the FCS. Guys who look good on game film. I loved Fagnanos film on YouTube against BC and UMass. The kid could hit WRs in stride. Not shockingly he's doing it here as well. But unless UConn is willing to pay $1 million a year or more they will have to get “lucky” in the portal with an up and coming QB. OK - I hope all this Joey love and attention doesn’t mess with his head. Trying to stay perfect is precisely how you don’t. I hope Mora’s plan is just let him grip and rip and have some fun. He’s not winning a Heisman and he needs to just play with an underdog chip on the shoulder to show the world he should be.
Touche. I was definitely wrong.Soooooo much Fagnano.
It’s almost like he probably should have started all last season too.
Hanks was all women when I was there. He definitely would be very king-like during my day.We had a six year guy on the 4th floor of Hanks Hall back in the day. He was kind of the king of the floor.
Or possibly queen.Hanks was all women when I was there. He definitely would be very king-like during my day.
You make it sound so easy to find a competent QB. You should join the staff.Nah. Be opportunistic. Joe had like a 1900yd passing season at an FCS school. No one is saying it is easy, but this staff has tried 2 approaches. 3 if you count HS. I was one of the few ecstatic they got Joe in part because he played for Charlton, but he had game film against FBS schools where he actually looked good. Contrast that with how Roberson fared in his 1 game against Iowa. You make it sound so easy to find a competent QB. You should join the staff.
