Joe F Numbers

His improvement has been huge. I remember sitting in the Rent last year at the Wake game behind a couple of scouts for somebody. Bowl game, another college team, NFL, I dunno. They had flown in a couple hours before and taken an Uber to the stadium. I remember voicing my disgust at Nick for missing a wide open receiver and shouted, "Put in Fagnano!" It registered with them as they both turned their heads a bit. I think at the time Joe was #2 on the depth chart.
Yeah I remember going to the Rice game last year and vehemently asking for Joe Fagnano to get in and take out Evers. It was so obvious last year that Joe F. had a better chance to be good than Evers but all that NIL money we wasted was taking precendence.

I just voted for Joe Fagnano and everyone on the BoneYard should, too.
FYI, I said my favorite team in the drop down menu was Miami Hurricanes just because I don't know if choosing UConn would devalue my vote in any way.

Despite what many of our basketball only fans think, Hurley most likely comprehends that the long term future of UConn basketball is likely related to the success of the football program.
Back when we were in the process of moving to IA from IAA, Calhoun was quoted as understanding the importance of and supporting the move to Big Time Football. Many people were asking the question of how important it was, and should we do it, and Jim emphatically said yes.

The coaches of every sport know the importance of having football be competitive. Football is the only way to get into the big boy money so if football continues to compete that does nothing but make every other sport more attractive to the P4

You'd be surprised at how short sighted some folks are.

I remember when the conventional wisdom on this board was that it's too hard to generate a passing game "up here" and we should continue to focus on Lombardi football. We did that. Not only did we lose, the fans hated it so we tried to shame them into being better fans. That worked out great. It's nice to see this staff and this QB dispel another widely accepted lazy take.

You think that the fact that we threw really well in two games in mid-50s fall weather eliminates the beliefs that, in parts of the country, you have to be able to run effectively on cold late November days? That we’ve had one effective throwing QB in 22 years means that it’s as easy to recruit QBs in our region as it is other positions? O.K.
