Javonte Brown-Ferguson on campus already
isn’t cole, martin and adams back? i think we got shooters
one of these cats is gonna be vital or polley
Yet rarely happens. That line should be mentioned by every coach each time they talk to a recruit and family for the first time within the first two minutes.
Your right she should have said that this is the role a coach should take here......What do you think he should say? Kids transfer all the time. I made different decisions when I was 18 then I do now.
Sarcasm? If he’s not comfortable he should find his way to a campus that suits his needs as soon as he possibly can. There’s no reason to overthink any of this or criticize Brown’s decision. Best of luck. I think three/four years from now he will be a beast.Best wishes to Javonte Brown Ferguson but my god this timing is horrible. Like kid just play out the season they will give you the year back. We’re in the middle of a road trip and starting to put together some conference wins. We don’t need any distractions and unnecessary changes right now. Selfish tbh.
I hate the term "recruited over". It makes no logical sense. So should a coaching staff only recruit 1 player at every position? Or should the coaching staff make sure they only recruit players who aren't good and could never in any imaginable circumstance play over someone who is already on the roster or committed to the school? It was already mentioned but I agree that the sanogo commitment probably bothered him more than the seniors. Sanogo was already an example of him being recruited over in a sense.
Exactly. Every team has 13 scholarships and multiple players at every position and there is competition for playing time. It's not like we are Kentucky or Duke bringing in a new cast of McD's all americans every year.I hate the term "recruited over". It makes no logical sense. What I hate is players who don't have the competitive nature to try to get better and fight for playing time. Whaley could have left 2 years ago. He took the challenge and now he's starting. I'd much rather have a roster full of those type of kids.
However you feel about the term is fine, if I’m a center and I commit to a school and then they take another center that they are thrilled to get and he’s looked as as a starter guess what? these kids have every right to be selfish, they owe us nothing.Best wishes to Javonte Brown Ferguson but my god this timing is horrible. because he made the determination that that was the best thing for him.Is he going to enroll at another school and play two weeks from now? Like why announce mid season?
He is shooting .545 from 3Pt range.Martin’s a shooter? Have you watched any games this year?

I remember a few weeks ago when people were arguing Martin was a better shooter than Polley. That was funnyIf you watched tonight, you know he's not a shooter. I also initially posted before his 3-4 game...which I think we all know is the exception and not the rule. Love the kid but he should never be classified as a shooter.
Ha ha Ha, this was a very underappreciated post.but in his mind, he's gone to Carolina...
I was actually being sarcastic. He is a streaky shooter for sure but he can beat his man off the dribble whenever he wants which is great to have.If you watched tonight, you know he's not a shooter. He's not someone you run plays for beyond the arc, but he is absolutely credible as a 3-point threat, and he needs to be in this offense. If you watched tonight, you know he's not a shooter. he's not. he's a scorer. big time.If you watched tonight, you know he's not a shooter. I also initially posted before his 3-4 game...which I think we all know is the exception and not the rule. Love the kid but he should never be classified as a shooter.
If he wants to make the NBA he will need to at least get there though before he leaves.Gotcha, I don’t believe original poster was though. If he’s got his feet set he can make enough to keep you honest, but I’d be shocked if he can shoot 35% from 3 (with a reasonable volume).
By my eye.. Shooters are very comfortable and consistent at the FT Line.. Scorers don't have the same fluid motion and confidence..Esp at crunch time..If you watched tonight, you know he's not a shooter. I think that’s a fair assessment of shooters. Consistent, smooth. The scorer is usually more creative with the ball. Maybe they have a flat j or they’re just inconsistent. They can get to the rim or get their shot off whenever. The great offensive players are both.By my eye.. Shooters are very comfortable and consistent at the FT Line.. Last five minutes of a game.. You want your shooters at the Line.. TM does not appear comfortable at the Line..
This year's team has more scorer/slasher types than pure shooters.. That's why our D and rebounding are key for our success going forward(this year's roster).. Not going to be shooting "lights out" too often..
It will be a high major.wow! i was in the same boat as some previous posters -- i thought springs might transfer, but assumed brown would be staying because of how obviously young and raw he is. i assume that the staff is being really honest with both.
curious where brown ends up... if it's indiana (or any high major) will he actually get minutes??
