January - Other Big East Games

this is now turning into a foul calling game.
Unfortunately yes. Hopkins used his off hand to move Scheierman’s arms and still got the foul call, smh. Well, I guess good on Hopkins for being able to draw that call

They will run into an officiating crew in the tournament that will be unimpressed by Hopkins' and Carter's antics.

Creighton pushed the lead to 16 to start the half, but Providence has clawed all the way back to within 4. Devin Carter's defense on display.

.-.
Scheierman (4 fouls) and Kalkbrenner out of the game, Providence goes on an immediate 7-0 run to tie the game. You just knew Kaluma was going to miss a couple shots after it became "his turn".

Scheierman’s plus minus must be really high. Give Providence credit they have fought back. Locke’s 3s and Hopkins being aggressive we’re effective in this comeback

PC may get a gift from the refs on the road with Scheierman in foul trouble. At least 2 of those were phantom fouls.

Hopkins got called for a foul just above the free throw line, and then ran to almost the other end of the court flailing his arms complaining about the call. The PC players show up the refs on every whistle. How much of this garbage are the refs going to tolerate?

Hopkins is the best player in the conference. I’ve seen enough. He’s masking a lot for providence offensively

Anyone else watch the Seton Hall @ DePaul game?

Wasn't impressed with either squad. Seton Hall's defense is legit, but their offense is atrocious. Dawes has great range and Richmond is impressive down low, but big difference having Newton guard Richmond compared to Cole.

.-.
McDermott just threw a curveball. Completely left Kalkbrenner to play free safety in the middle of the paint. 1 man zone. Doesn't care about Providence's guards getting a 3 off the dribble in PnR whatsoever.

Think he's been doing that all game. Kalkbrenner hasn't played D against Croswell on the perimeter at all from what I've seen.

Croswell just held his hands up in the air for about 30 seconds after a foul call. AJax would have 5 technicals if he did half the stuff PC does.

Hopkins really is the #1 transfer in the country. I would go Sanogo as BE POY, but I would not argue if they gave it to Hopkins. Having said that he might have gotten away with an offensive foul on that drive against Alexander

No Kalkbrenner has been doing that almost the entire game

Your PC hate is real....kinda funny. Last yr PC was lucky, this yr they get all the call....what will it be next season.

I think other teams game plans have to include forcing Hopkins to be play D, his D really is not good. his offensive is all that though.

their MO is to shoot 30 FT's a game. If they don't, they have a tough time winning. Good job by Creighton to keep their feet and go straight up or just get out of the way altogether.

I'm going to try that on Tuesday when I coach my next game. Put my best offensive player (who is also my second tallest player) in the middle of the zone and then play man with the other 4. Protect the rim, get some blocks, preserve energy for offense.

And now, some sanity from @Storrs South:
