About 15 minutes into the first half, they were both on pace for about 20 pts that half and both playing zone defenses. This was way more painful to watch than our game.
 
Depaul looks like they will win this. They have been tough to play on their home court the past few years. Not going to be an easy game when we have to go there. We had a close one a couple years ago that we could of lost.
 
Villanova has made the decision that they will not be dancing this year.

GTown at least played well against us and when we play bad we're still okay. This was ugly basketball. GTown tied their season low in points. GTown's season low, let that sink in.

Real hard to win with one competent guard on the entire roster, especially when that guard goes 4/16 from the field. It's actually quite shocking how poor their guard play is.
 
Villanova goes down to Manny Bates-less Butler team. Wow 8-10 and 2-5 in the big east. Villanova boring basketball is catching up to them. They are wasting Whitmore with Caleb Daniels and Dixon backdowns as their main offense.

Villanova is abysmal defensively. How do they give up 56.5% from the field to a bad team that is missing its best offensive player? Especially coming off a loss to a bad DePaul team that also lit Nova's defense up? Villanova has 10 4-star players. There is no excuse for having back to back losses like that. That is simply a lack of heart.

Cooley gets a T because Providence can't flop and flail and get every call. I hope the refs chuck him. And the amount of chatter from the Providence players at the refs is simply amazing. Shut the fudge up and play basketball. Why aren't the refs ringing them up with T's?
 
I expect Creighton will beat Providence today. They're better than 9-8. Had a brutal schedule thus far.

They haven't played a road game against a good team in conference yet, so they're used to getting all the calls.

Kalkbrenner was out for 2 of those losses, and less than 100% for a couple of other games.

100% correct. Providence is used to getting all BS calls with their flailing and now they are not getting their calls and it has caught them by surprise. Which is why their players are talking so much to the officials. Croswell is a tough defender and rebounder, but has zero offensive skill- he is a reckless bull in a China shop. Do you see where Kalkbrenner is on defense when Croswell catches a pass at the foul line? 4 feet from the basket daring Croswell to shoot.

Look at the UConn game box score and you will see a cRoswell scored almost all of his points at the foul line from BS calls.

Creighton's bench is weak. I like King, but McDermott won't play King and Kalkbrenner together, and the guards on the bench are terrible. Mitchell and Farabello can hit a wide open 3, but otherwise are not high level D1 players. Miller is a frosh so it is hard to tell with him, but he is not able to contribute meaningful minutes yet.

Scheierman is known for his long range 3s, but his movement without the ball off the screens is very good and his passing and floor vision is very good, too.
