Jackson may not be a PG, but to suggest he's not a ball handler or initiator is absurd.
I'm not saying that, I'm saying those are the holes that we need to fill with the PG slots.

Yeah. He went out and got Kwintin Williams, Antwoine Anderson, David Onuorah, Sidney Wilson and Eric Cobb.Did we give Ollie the same chance?
Wait correct me if I’m wrong wasn’t Cobb a one game wonder? I feel like I remember him helping us beat Syracuse one year.Yeah. He went out and got Kwintin Williams, Antwoine Anderson, David Onuorah, Sidney Wilson and Eric Cobb.
Didn't exactly work out.
That’s fine. But given how expansive the portal is, and the countless success stories we saw on rosters this year, there’s a clear reason me (and many others) are cautiously optimistic that we’ll come out better at the end of this offseason.Hope everyone spinning this is right but not feeling warm and fuzzy with the state of the program at this very moment. Really need to hope the portal works out … as well as some of these freshman.
Or it shouldn't beLOL Year 5 of a rebuild is not in of itself a rebuild year.
True. But he had a NC, conference tourney title and final as well. Just saying it seems like we’re giving a much longer leash with Hurley than Ollie and everyone seems content with itYeah. He went out and got Kwintin Williams, Antwoine Anderson, David Onuorah, Sidney Wilson and Eric Cobb.

Because the trends were completely opposite directions, one is trending up every season and the other started off with those accolades you list and then stopped doing his jobTrue. Do you really get it?True. But he had a NC, conference tourney title and final as well. Just saying it seems like we’re giving a much longer leash with Hurley than Ollie and everyone seems content with it
Man, people on here really don’t like Andre’s game. Hurley is putting is trust in him and I’m all for it. Count me in the camp that believes Ajax can be a really great PG for us.
Well they're completely different scenarios and the situations aren't comparable at all. So I don't think it's unreasonable that they're being handled and perceived differently. And I mean there's also the fact that Ollie was at UConn longer than Hurley has been hereTrue. But he had a NC, conference tourney title and final as well. The winning percentage has gone up every year under Hurley. Ollie's first two years were his best, and his last two were flat out awful.True. I kind of disagree, Ollie was fired after not making the tournament 3 years in a row correct? I have to imagine if Hurley misses next two years he will not get a chance to make it three in a rowTrue. With all due respect, you and the guy who coaches high school (?) are mistaken. The movement is overwhelmingly downward in both sports.
No quibble there. Hurley had a security blanket with Cole and that is gone now. The bed is stripped bare.
Kevin Ollie nearly relegated this program into a Division 3 rec league. Hurley cleaned up his disaster. Our record for next year is 0-0 right now, idk how you can say things have gotten worse with a straight face.True. But he had a NC, conference tourney title and final as well. This actually terrifies me. I’m a big AJ fan, and I wouldn’t mind him getting some minutes at the point, but he’s a long way away from being a starting point guard.Don't worry we have our PG on the roster. AJ.

This should be the criticism. Everyone whiffs on recruits. He whiffed on two straight at the same position. That should raise eyebrows. Let's see how he plugs the holes.

That’s definitely a function, but I don’t know if it’s the biggest one. The biggest one is to ease the movement of successful players from lesser programs to better programs.Sound logic until you remember that the guy who recruited them is the one who is going to be the one to find people to replace them and he’s now shopping the discount aisle.
Not really.
Watch how many kids in the portal are out of college basketball next season. The portal is the greatest sleight of hand ever in college sports. Biggest function of the portal is to convey players downward and the ones already near the bottom are conveyed out.
Are you new here?lets not fall into extreme rhetorical predictions
It would concern me more in a different era. The point guard role isn't what it used to be. Teams looking to generate offense with off the ball movement and passing rather than have it come through one guy. No matter who is the "PG" a lot of our offense is going to flow through Jackson. The biggest issue is defending opposing PGs, and I think AJ can handle most of them. This actually terrifies me.
