It doesn't matter to our coaches and shouldn't matter to us.Serious question. Does this signing drop our 2025 recruiting class ranking or are internationals exempt from the cumulative ranking?

Sorry, I'm a UConn fan, I'm going to need that in Hilton units, if you please. No reason to guess on his height and weight. He's 14.5 hands tall and weighs 15 stone.
Those two are worth a listen just for comedic value. Clueless.I swear one of their last videos was calling him a potential one and done and now they’re saying he’s not going to get off the bench next year.
That's right about Duke. Hopefully Scheyer will be consistently an underperformer and end that attractiveness that's carried over after Krzyzewski's departure.Exactly. Have to think this will be a year some of the older guys have to show their keep, as if not getting PT this year, writing may be on the wall. The program has gone through a significant forward evolution the last two years and I’m not sure Hurley is going to allow for tenure to keep your spot.
When a staff is in the position of being able to attract top talent, and seemingly their pick of the litter, cannot let that window pass you by for loyalty. As the sooner the flywheel starts, the sooner you achieve critical mass. Need to seize that advantage immediately as it will feed itself year over year by sending talent to the NBA. You want to be in this position every year.
Was reading the Mahaney article on Storrs Central and one thing that stood out was that he said he wanted to go to Duke in 8th grade. That’s where that brand is - imbedded, done over decades with a big part of it being the player quality that’s come through. Now that the program is at an apex, and with Hurley at the helm, no reason we can’t be that program to 8th graders over the next decade.

Very true, I know he is from Down Under, but he shouldn't have zero points.I see 247 has listed our 4th recruit but gave him 0 points. It would seem these "experts" should be able to slot JF in somewhere and assign him some realistic point total based on his performance in some serious international competition.

From this pic it looks like Danny is the one who has grown. He was listed at 6-2 in college. He’s already grown 2”
Memories of Henefield, Sheffer and Giffey. Let's gooooooooooooo!Agreed. It’s fun watching these international players and how they’re taught to play the game. Super skilled, fundamentally sound, smart players. Lots of countries really placing a huge emphasis on player development and it shows. Excited to see what Furphy can bring.
Cousins with Clark - and he’s always spreading bad info. Insider wannabe.
If he isn't he will certainly learn how here.Fantastic get- is he a good defender too?
That'll change once they update their rankings again and he's on the list. They don't update rankings every time someone commits, that would be crazyI see 247 has listed our 4th recruit but gave him 0 points. Whatever you say. Was Newton the biggest, strongest, most athletic on the court ? No, he wasn't. He had effort and desire.Yes, that along with size, strength, and athleticism.
I hope he can/does that’ll be great for his development to get a jump on next season but I think bc if the current scholly situation he’ll have to wait till early 2025 to actually signDoes anyone know if he can come in spring semester like Karaban did? Their school year schedule is different than ours and read the school year ends in December.
Rebounding may be a very big concern! Time will tell..UConn out-rebounded URI 41-40. Until Tom Moore retires there is no need to ever worry about a UConn team rebounding, especially offensive rebounds
Zagoria weighs in on Furphy at about 30:45. Says a few things we haven’t heard, including comps. I know we love comps.
Why? We have an open scholarship.I hope he can/does that’ll be great for his development to get a jump on next season but I think bc if the current scholly situation he’ll have to wait till early 2025 to actually sign
Newton was also a 6'5" PG, that's an advantage, especially in college.Whatever you say. Was Newton the biggest, strongest, most athletic on the court ? No, he wasn't. He had effort and desire.
Newton was underrated on his defense. He took a lot of charges and had very quick feet- if the guy he was defending ever got around him, Newton usually was able to get back in good position and cut him off.Newton was also a 6'5" PG, that's an advantage, especially in college.
Look, I’m not saying the desire and technique doesn’t have a big impact on rebounding. But having positional size is also really advantageous. Newton, Castle, and Clingan had really good positional size. That is definitely a big factor in why we did so well on the boards. I think it’s also fair to question, with a smaller team this year, whether rebounding can still be a big advantage for this team. We’ve got questions to answer there.Whatever you say. Was Newton the biggest, strongest, most athletic on the court ? No, he wasn't. He had effort and desire.
That's true, but haven't we seen evidence that they often don't rate the international players or, if they do, rate them below the domestic players? That'll change once they update their rankings again and he's on the list. They don't update rankings every time someone commits, that would be crazy
I don't think that happens, at least not on 247. Egor Demin came over late this year and was ranked 16th. Illinois got 2 guys from Croatia and Lithuania who were ranked 36th and 51stThat's true, but haven't we seen evidence that they often don't rate the international players or, if they do, rate them below the domestic players?
Or am I thinking about football and in our case the linemen we've brought in?
So your saying he will know his way to and from Ted’s unlike Cam Spencer? He looks like he’s just left a bar brawl is in the middle of one or on his way up a pre scheduled one.
