Army w/ Bowl Agreement for 2020, 2022, 2024:

>>Army will play in the Independence Bowl in 2020, ’22 and ’24, assuming the team is bowl eligible. In odd-numbered years, the Knights are guaranteed a slot in one of 13 different bowl games.

Army is an at-large team this year, meaning Jeff Monken‘s team will have to fill a slot unused by one of the 10 FBS conferences.<<
Has anyone been to Shreveport? I drove by the stadium and flew to Houston from their airport. Not high on my list of bowl destinations.

Yes, and Shreveport rightfully should be pretty low on a desirable destination list. Same same for Monroe, Ruston, and even Lafayette and Baton Rouge. At least Lafayette has some great music and interesting culture, and Red Baton has 6 SEC gridiron Saturdays.

9/7/24 @ UConn

10/11/25 @ Army

10/14/28 @ Army

11/10/29 @ UConn

I needed a re-sort cuz I'm old but that's a lot of games and a good pro-active move.
Seems counter-intuitive to folding the program though.

Is a 3 for 4 series with Army considered good?
The post above is missing the 2027 game @ UConn. It’s a 4-4 home and home series.
Considering its a regional matchup, easy drive for both fanbases to the away game, great venue for our fans to go to, and both home and away games should draw good attendances. Id say it's a win/win for both sides.

Yeah I didn’t include that because it was part of the previously announced games with Army

Win-Win. As mentioned before an easy, nice drive for away fans. Army has recent success(beating Navy two straight years, flirting with top 25 ranking) so for UConn it's a good, challenging FBS game on the schedule. Defending that option offense possibly twice a season(if Navy can be added to schedule) will be a grind on the defense but both teams can be beat. I am silently praying Benedict can schedule Navy in 2023, 24, 26 & 27. Any year he can get Navy is good though. Hopefully by 2024 UConn will be flirting with the top 25 rankings also so those Army games should be attractive to TV and that will be the real win-win.

For DelMarVa regional recruiting purposes; parental, alumni and other fan convenience, mutual travel convenience, etc, scheduling Navy makes a lot of sense. However, weaving the USNA and USMA into different seasons may be more desirable, i.e., Navy only in years when Army is not scheduled.

Army makes sense for both parties. Drivable It isn’t 1950 so they are not unbeatable but they are still an attractive get.

For the 2022 schedule, I thought we had BC at the Rent on Nov 19th. They scheduled Army for the same date. Which one is right?

An additional 2020 away game did and does not appear desirable, but fuhgetabout Texas Tech. Not surprisingly, the Red Raiders signed an FCS school for their 12th game; Alabama State.

Something to consider - The Yankees are warming up their annual late season football program with a clash between Princeton and Dartmouth this weekend.

While another challenged season makes this hard to imagine, it seems highly probable that AD David Benedict will have something announced in the coming months for UConn at Yankee Stadium....perhaps for 2021.

I’d imagine this would jiggle one or two home/home free...

>>The 2020 season will be the first for The American with 11 football-playing institutions. The 2020 and 2021 schedules will include eight conference games - four home games and four road contests - for each team in each season. Each team will face the other 10 teams at least once in the two-year cycle.<<
