In UConns history, what would it be? Think outside the box here if you want. Take away a player, remove a loss, add a championship.

For me it's easy. Give Ray Allen a championship in 96. Only thing missing from his resume.

or dyson never getting hurt during 09. we were a different team without him and were the only team that would have had a realistic shot beating UNC in the championship game

I'm torn between giving Ray a championship, versus Calhoun winning the ship in a year that dook did to give Jimmy the 4-3 edge against K.

removing a loss-George Mason dont think we would have beaten Florida in the FF4 that year the way we were playing in those tourney games

Add a championship-I will say 96 because that was a legit National title caliber team and was playing well leading up to the tournament Ray Winning a national title would have been awesome, I would say 1990 but there is no way anybody would have beaten that UNLV team that year that team was like the 04 Uconn team

Player I wish we had Garnett considering he would have been playing with Ray

Player I wish we never had- Miles of course

Marcus Williams, Josh Boone and Rudy Gay returning to school for one more year, to play with and mentor the younger players in 06-07.

I think George Mason in 2006 is too obvious. I would have to say the 1995 elite 8 game vs UCLA. I feel if Uconn won that, they would have been the team cutting down the nets in Seattle that year.

Nate Miles and Marcus Williams meet in junior high and decide that instead of playing basketball, they would form an Indigo Girls-type singing duo.

Tate George holds onto the ball in the eastern regional finals game against Duke 89-90 season.
From a UConn sports perspective that play on March 24, 1990 will certainly go down as the most memorable. Analogous to September 11, 2001 I will always remember where I was when that basketball went through the hands of Tate George in the 79-78 overtime loss.

That play and season in general laid the foundation for all the subsequent growth and success the program has accomplished.

Hard to believe that was over twenty (20) years ago. I concur with your selection....GLTU

UConn finds a way to beat Hartwick on a field of pure ice in the NCAA soccer play offs 1979. Huskies were the best team in the country that year and got screwed by being forced to play on the road on a dangerous surface.

I'd remove the rim Marcus Whites putback got stuck on during the 2003 tourney against Texas or Tyus Edney's shoelaces during the final 5 seconds against Missouri in 1995.

Or he tips it towards the Uconn's basket. This I can never get over, that team deserved a FF.

Two:

Ricky Moore out of the game vs Colgate with 5 minutes left didn't need him and he would've been healthy to gurad the 2 guys from Miss St and that team could have won one.

#1 would be for Donyell to make both FT's vs Florida because that team was going to win one!! And he doesn't deserve that to be something people recognize him with as he as just too good!!

Ray Allen would get one of my votes, but wouldn't that 1996 championship have been forfeited anyway on a result of the Moore/King plane tickets? Perhaps I'd move it back to 1995.

AJ being healthy and not being suspended. Would have been at least 1 more NC IMO.

if AJ never gets hurt or suspended he probably is a 3 year player maybe 2, him and Rudy were supposed to be the next great Uconn duo after Ben and Emeka.

I'm not changing anything prior to 1999. All of the disappointments made the first time we made it to the top that much better.

I'd either have Steve Blake's 3 rim out in 2002, or have Marcus's layup not get stuck vs. Texas in 03.

The departure of Jeff Hathaway in 2007 or so, when he stopped being useful, would also have been helpful.
