Wasn't the ball on the rim too for Melos tip in? And I'm pretty sure Fair shuffled his feet before the shot

live, I saw the shuffle and thought it was a goal-tend. Didn't think Smith was fouled.
When I returned home to watch the replays, I saw the shuffle but I don't think Melo goaltended
Didn't even look at the very last play closely until I came on this board and saw so many people complaining about the no call. Went back to the video again and I couldn't believe my eyes.
WOW, that's all I can say, WOW
All you need to do is go to the Cuse board and see their 3 page thread on this issue. The majority thought it was a very clear foul and some thought it was actually intentional.
FWIW, Scoe is a 70% FT shooter this year and 78% last year so its hardly a formality that he would miss one.
But we also thought CJ Fair got fouled on the play before, too...we were lucky to have Melo clean up the weakside rebound and put it back in.
Drummond's arms were straight up, Fair initiated contact, and actually traveled before any contact even occurred.
I would not blame the loss on that one play at the end. Frequently refs were swallow the whistle there. This was nowhere near as awful as Marquette where the most brainless calls in history were made (no logic to them whatsoever).
Roscoe was fouled by my view, but I'm not upset at the no-call. I am more upset at the 17 point lead we spotted them, which creating the purpose for this discussion.
they did hack Roscoe, Fair was actually intentionally fouling Smith
disgusting
It usually gets swallowed on close plays, which I don't have a problem with. That one wasn't close - it was a foul.I didn't DVR the game and have to take your word for it (travel)...but I agree the whistle often gets swallowed the last 10 secs. It was an awesome game with two polar opposite halves. Pretty sure we'll see Round 3 in NYC. Good luck till then.
Sportscenter has been showing this play close up and in slow motion today. I wasn't sure how much of a foul it was before, but after seeing that, it's clearly a foul. He was hacked and taken down from behind, no question. The commentator even said "Isn't that a foul? Isn't UConn at home?"

I watched the replay again and initially I thought that Roscoe should have quickly put up the J and would have had AD camped to put in the rebound. But after watching it again, Roscoe had AD wide open to his left. It would have been an easy dump down and dunk for the tie. He didn't even have to do a hard upfake since Melo immediately ran out at him leaving AD wide open.Cuse extended the D beyond the 3 to prevent the loss.
We did what he had to do and got the ball into the paint. Roscoe could have passed it, but he didn't. He got fouled. No call. Game over.
Can't get on Roscoe's case, we aren't in this game at all if it wasn't for him.
Are you kidding me? a foul is a foul at anytime in the game remember when they called a foul on Pitt 85 feet from the basket in that game vs Butler in the NCAA tournament a few years ago with like no time left if they call that a foul, there is no reason that a foul shouldn't have been called on Fair.In all seriousness, no way that was a foul in that spot and do you think in a million years he would have made 2 FTs. He clunked 2 just a few minutes before.
Let's see, Fair first shoved him in the back, hacked his arm and pulled him down with his other hand...Yeah, I'd say that's a foul during any moment of a game. I don't know why, but UConn simply isn't getting these types of calls. Last season I thought we got some favorable officiating at times, not this year.Wasn't a takedown. It was a terrible play. No way he should have touched the ball other than a put back.
