I thought it was .3 seconds left.Nah, he was just trying to motivate his players with .1 seconds left in the game.

Calhoun always seemed more in control than Hurley is and he blasted the refs for sure but he didn’t fly off the handle. There is a difference. I can’t even imagine him getting Teed up with under a second to go and basically chest bumping an official. I go back to the Villanova game several years ago when he got a T then started urging the crowd to get involved and got bounced. Or getting a T late in another game that snuffed out a comeback. I always felt that 99 times out of 100 Calhoun’s histrionics were calculated. Hurley’s seem out of control. Bob Knight is the comp I see. Gets out of control at times. He has been better this year but lost it again.I'm not sure this thread is the place for this comment, but I've been trying to think about how Hurley's "working the refs" is different than Calhoun's "working the refs." When Jim Calhoun went after the refs, it seemed more a criticism of the call unless a personal criticism. You might hear that "freaking bullshit", but to my knowledge, he never called anyone a "freaking clown".
Calhoun had gravitas. Yeah, he's a big man and he looked furious sometimes, but he seemed angry and not out of control. Hurley reminds me of Mick Cronin. His complaints seem more whiny than forceful, but, what I think causes so much personal animosity between the refs and him is that he attacks them personally, rather than the call. He's also less judicious. I think you need to pick your spots.
Thank you. A lot of good coaches get fired if they don't work the refs consistently, especially in the BEAST. The refs don't appreciate the coach being quiet. They just take advantage of it, like they did against Pope yesterday against Florida. Shaka is trying to save his job. He did the same thing at Providence against a hot team AND KILLED THEM ON THEIR OWN COURT. Probably got English fired. With everything coming up, I think yesterday was a net positive. Hurley knows it's MUCH BETTER to err on this side.I didn't watch the game, not one person who did said Silas wasn't fouled
My son said he screamed and 1, was disappointed the shot didn't go in and was shocked there was a no call
I don't care if Hurley's suspended, something has to wake this team up
We'll win the NC again.So true !
How many NCs do their teams have?it’s honestly kinda pathetic. I look like a dunce constantly defending his antics to my friends of other fanbases.

So that he gets suspended in addition to a fine?If Hurley’s going to bump the refs, at least get your money’s worth.
Shame.
Should be required to take anger management therapy sessions.Deserves to be suspended IMO. Has to keep his emotions in check. Don't turn your anger on the refs because your team decided not to show up today.
Promoted in our league.Do refs get suspended for consistent horrendous officiating?
Why? So the corrupt refs can screw him and the team even more?Should be required to take anger management therapy sessions.
Exactly. They're on the take to begin with.Promoted in our league.
NoPretty sure the rule about touching a ref is a one game suspension. He's gone, correct?
What the are people doing in the chat during the game? They can't be watching it. The bashing on each possession? Is it constant betting? I stopped the chat room a long time ago.We are 27–4 and nationally ranked. Four losses all season that’s elite. Yes, the latest loss was to Marquette a game we should’ve had but one slip doesn’t erase an entire season of high-level basketball.
We’re still a favorite in the BE Tournament and a legitimate Final Four contender in the NCAAs. If you’re saying this team is “no good,” you’re missing the big picture.
Support the team. March is what counts.
Being in the game chat has become an eye opener and not in a good way. Constant negativity, nonstop player and coach bashing, and meltdown posts every possession isn’t support, it’s noise. Frustration is normal, but turning it into attacks just drags everyone down and does nothing for the team.
If the chat is just doom and blame, what’s the point?

It's one of them.He was fouled, but I don't care who you are, you're not going to get that call on the road with that much time on the clock.
If the roles were reversed, UConn probably also doesn't get called for a foul up in the game and at home.
That's not why we lost the game.
I already said it in another post but I’ll say it again:
This was the 31st game of the season. The players are well-paid professionals who should have knowledge of our offensive sets by now and all theoretically have a decent BBIQ.
I would be absolutely stunned if Danny, Kimani, and Luke did not mention strongly at any point during timeouts, or yelling when game action was on, to “get the ball into the post”.
If anyone was at the game behind the bench and confirm that the above happened, I’ll give you $1000.
This isn’t 5th grade church league rec ball where they should have to pause the game to have to coaches come out on the court and explain to the players how to pass the ball into the post in the spirit of teaching the game.
If you want to discuss/debate the merits of how pulling all the starters and putting in the scrubs for 3-4 minutes would have gone, I’m fine with that. It may have “taught them a lesson” and been “great coaching”, but the outcome likely would have been the same.
So your last comment means he’s learned from his past behavior, and I’d assume he does the same this time. He got caught up in the emotion of a game with a #1 seed at stake. Regardless, it didn’t affect the outcome.Calhoun always seemed more in control than Hurley is and he blasted the refs for sure but he didn’t fly off the handle. There is a difference. I don't know about that. Yes, no doubt he is frustrated with the current effort but Silas no call was the tip of the iceberg.
They can still get the 1 seed. There's a whole tournament to play for them AND Florida. So your last comment means he’s learned from his past behavior, and I’d assume he does the same this time. True, but that only holds water for so long. This is going to be a fascinating tournament and portal for this UConn team. To see how far they go, to see how Hurley responds if they don’t for far, to see how they attack the portal if they if they don’t go far.How many NCs do their teams have?
Or if he stays here.True, but that only holds water for so long. This is going to be a fascinating tournament and portal for this UConn team. To see how far they go, to see how Hurley responds if they don’t for far, to see how they attack the portal if they if they don’t go far.
They’ll need to portal no matter how well they do.True, but that only holds water for so long. This is going to be a fascinating tournament and portal for this UConn team. No. He had it under control much more this year but couldn’t control himself again. He bumped the ref. The NBE front office just isn’t going to do anything because they can’t afford having a final of PC vs Marquette. Not a soul watches THAT! Face it. The league needs UConn for the tv coverage. So your last comment means he’s learned from his past behavior, and I’d assume he does the same this time.
