For me Gaffney was and is the starter. This only solidifies it for me. A guy that replaced Rique and led us to 19 wins in his freshman year which is better than what Cole was able to do in his 2 years at Howard deserves to start until proven otherwise.

Either way I like what I see from our new strength coach. Best strength coach we’ve had in forever.

I remember during the Emeka/Thabeet days where the other team would sort of test the waters the first few possessions with entering into the post, get swatted and bullied, then completely give up and start focusing on bombing 3's and dribble drives.

That was very satisfying from a physical dominance perspective, and it seems to be where we have headed again. Awesome.

He’s a reclass freshman too. It’s great to have a freshman front court player with his frame, guessing by the end of the season he’ll be playing some significant minutes.

Gaffney seems like a steady development guy. He makes it his business to make everyone else better. Gaining the confidence to make some clutch shots will separate him from the pack. Hoping and believing he gets there.
