How many fun-hating cars did AH rent?? Seriously, this is absurd.

If only a quarter of what prosecutors claim is true, AH is doing 30+ at minimum*

Someone else here mentioned they wanted to puke when all this went down and that applied to me as well. I could not fathom how AH would execute someone for talking to some other people at a bar and throw his life away. I assumed AH had a beef with these other guys and felt "disrespected" etc in the modern language which in our day was your pride took a hit because either you got your butt kicked or backed down from these other guys. Still made no sense until the possible link to the 2 other killings and the comment "I can't trust anyone anymore". Maybe these other guys were looking for the original shooter? With the other shooting in Febuary it seems that AH has a problem with using a gun to solve his problems and now will spend the rest of his days locked up. Just inexplicable stupidity and lack of self control.

His only break at this point, is he is only 23. Maybe he'll get out in time for early retirement. However, if he is in trouble with drug gangs, he may not see his next birthday in prison.

I've stated several times how I had heard about AH smoking dust, and getting into fights going back two years. A thug wannabe I said. I take it back. He was/is a dangerous thug, not thug wannabe gangster. A dangerous, menace to society. A mope, but a danger to society. Shame. No need. Good family/upbringing. Makes you wonder how a kid from Bristol with a lot of positive influences, who came into millions becomes hell bent in trying to become what Tupac talked about in Thug Life.

Innocent into proven guilty, I know, but there is just too much smoke. And the dude with a "public defender" is going to sing like a canary. He either talks or Hernandez's lawyers are going to make him the cause of everything. While arguing that Hernandez had no idea what that dude was going to do.

The guy he's alleged to have shot in the face in Florida, supposedly a friend of his, is a drug dealer and there have been some rumors of Hernandez being a drug user. Hernandez also failed drug tests at Florida, which were hushed up (Nice job there. How about intervention & help for a troubled young man, Florida? Hello?) There have also been reports that Hernandez has been in a gang in Bristol.

Florida was too busy letting Urban Meyer go on about how they recruited the "top 1% of the top 1%". People actually fell for that garbage too. Even as Florida had arrest after arrest of every possible sort, people billed it as some great place simply because they had the greatest front man in history, Tim Tebow. The fraud that was running that program wasn't interested in helping anyone other than himself.

Of course we produce a number of psycho/sociopaths. The evidence of same is overwhelming; although I continue to believe that "the 10% is evil" is much too high. As far as "science" is concerned, it is my understanding that, post WW II, the military surveyed/debriefed a sampling of combat infantrymen (grunts) and found that a significant number avoided killing.

In any event, Jazz's murder, the Hernandez allegations and similar circumstance will continue to trouble me because of the matter-of-fact, casualness of the acts, and I'll continue to believe that ninety-percent plus of the race is repulsed by the casual taking of human life. Soap Box has been put away.

Exactly. He needs to keep a low profile while he is here. Probably not a good idea to go to a diner at 3:00 AM where you are sure to run into some drunken idiot(s) with a loud mouth and beer muscles.

I really feel bad for him, and I could see how he would react to someone calling out his brother's name. But he has to keep himself away from those situations.

Exactly. No consequences. Ridiculous. Something should have been done long before this happened. Punishment, counseling, etc.... Instead, Urban thought that NOTHING was the best way to go. And you can be pretty darn sure that he had something (likely everything) to do with the lack of consequences.

If everyone was treated this way, the world would be a much scarier place than it already is.
 
I will probably regret typing this message, but I am going to write it anyway.

I know that DJ Hernandez is loved around here and we all hold him in high esteem (myself included). But we all keep blaming Urban Meyer, the NFL, Florida, and everyone else for not stepping in and showing some discipline and tough love to AH to get him on the right track. Why does DJ get off here with absolutely no criticism?

He is the older brother (who AH looked up to by all accounts) and had to know that AH was not on the right path (he probably didn't know the full extent of what AH was doing, but I am sure he knew about the guns, mutliple run-ins with the law, drug involvement, many bad intentioned 'entourage', etc). At what point does DJ need to take some responsibility for not stepping in and trying to set his brother right. Obviously that is an extremely difficult thing to do...and for all we know, maybe he tried. But I see everyone here blaming Urban Meyer (and rightfully so) and everyone else that was involved with AH. But at the end of the day, the people who are most responsible for trying to take 'intervene' in a person who is ruining their life, is their own family. We all know that the Hernandez family is a good family and they are being portrayed as victims here...but at what point is it on them for not trying to set AH right?
 
What? AH, made his own decision to go to UF, where it appears he further embraced the guns and thuggery. What the hell was dj to do when he is in storrs and little bro is in florida? I don't blame Meyer for anything. AH was a means to an end for him to help him win games which he did. That he cared or was some father figure to AH, IS THE ONLY THING that is laughable.

There's only so much a family can do, especially when the person is a grown adult. It really is amazing how much UF swept under the rug. If Aaron never lost his father, all this would never have happened and he would have played at UConn. But at the same time, he still had so many reasons to be grateful. Entitlement obviously ruins minds.
 
Just to add, AH and DJ, weren't kids that came from effed up backgrounds, they had supportive family/involved parents. One turned out all right, one didn't. Happens sometimes. Only person to blame is AH himself. You want to act like a millionaire gangsta, that is not gonna face consequences? There you go bra.

Who is to say that he didn't? DJ, by all accounts, wanted Aaron at UConn. At some point Aaron needs to be accountable for the decisions he made. Awful, sickening decisions... and not just the one to go to UF.

I'm not necessarily defending Hernandez, but he was definitely targeted here. Most big time college football players are targets. See below. He was also only 17 at the time; not a lot of sense in most 17 year olds, even less in Ahern apparently. That said, a sucker punch is not on.

Hernandez said he hadn't ordered the drinks and refused to pay, at which point a "verbal altercation" began between the two men. Hernandez called a witness over to try to intervene, but a resolution couldn't be reached. Hernandez was told to leave and escorted out by Taphorn.

After stepping outside, according to the report, Hernandez told police Taphorn "got in his face" and began yelling at him. As Taphorn turned to walk away, Hernandez punched him in the side of the head—a fact Hernandez did not dispute.

Well, as we know, AH lost his dad unexpectedly when he was what 15 or 16, an impressionable kid to say the least. DJ was 21 or so at the time and fully involved in D1 college football. He was more mature and had more discipline to deal with the situation. Most people connected say that his fathers death was the turning point for AH.

Everyone's been assuming that AH embraced this gang lifestyle in Florida, but lately I've been wondering if he left CT to get away from whatever thuggery he was involved in in Bristol. Apparently his thugs aren't from Florida, they're from his home town. I think it's perfectly plausible that leaving CT was the best thing for him, and maybe the worst thing that could have happened was for him to get drafted by the Pats (or maybe a NY team) because it kept him around Bristol
