It is! Ask for Sylvia. The owner! It takes 20 mins after your order to receive the goodies. FreshI drove by there a couple weeks ago and couldn't believe that's still open. My parents got chicken from there all the time. If it's anything like it was back then, it's definitely worth checking out.
I am as old school as you can get though at times. It’s been awhile but a trip to the Polish National Home was always an adventure. If the waitress thinks you are taking too long to order you’ll end up with the polish sampler. Take it easy on beer though. Small cups but they pack a punch.
El Pollo Guapo is opening a Hartford location on 12/3. That place is awesome. The Vietnam Restaurant in West Hartford, New Britain Ave.

Chicken cutlet grinder at Cornerstone on Main St.
I agree. Carl's BBQ in East Hartford is real good. I usually go with the Jamaican Jerk Chicken sandwich.
That’s what makes it a “hidden gem” gotta try it!I will second this. Yummy food from an absolute hole in the wall. Sketchy area, next to a package store But damn that food is good.
MMs Gyros on temple street. Theres a couple gyro places in hartford but this one is on a different level.
I recommend the Pho (Saigon?) in front of Pho Boston. It’s been awhile but a trip to the Polish National Home was always an adventure. If the waitress thinks you are taking too long to order you’ll end up with the polish sampler. Take it easy on beer though. Small cups but they pack a punch.
Another option is pho Boston right on the line with West Hartford—bear A Dongs. That’s a good choice this time of year.
Love everything else but not the bread that comes with "Indian Street Food".We already have a thread for best CT grinder and Wethersfield Pizza’s Chicken Parm is the winner. /thread
For lunch spots I’ll contribute by adding Dhaba Walla. Indian fast food.
Vietnamese ravioli, beef pho and the shaken beef at the Vietnamese Restaurant up the road can't be beat.I recommend the Pho (Saigon?) in front of Pho Boston.
Utsav on the Silas Deane has a pretty good lunch buffet. For lunch spots I’ll contribute by adding Dhaba Walla. Indian fast food.
Cyote Flaco on New Britain Ave Hartford
There’s like 4 Pho restaurants in that area, and another half dozen on Park Street. Pho Boston is consistent but it isn’t spectacular and is a bit overpriced for a bowl of broth.I recommend the Pho (Saigon?) in front of Pho Boston.
