I don’t understand the angst over the spread. I’d think the lack of confidence in UConn would help keep the team focused. They’ve done well when folks count them out. I’m hoping the spread widens.

I don't think it's angst....it just doesn't make sense. I honestly thought the game would be a pickem...and if it was at UConn, I would think UConn would be favored.

Looking at both team's schedule and results, it's hard to understand how Army is a 10 point favorite.

the spread is not worth worrying about. we know they're going to run and do a lot of weird things. Previous eras this is a UConn weakness.

Sounds like the obvious thing to me is limit turnovers and make sure the defense doesn't get overworked. I expect the game to be mildly boring but ultimately the result is gained.

Hit the QB enough and they will turn the ball over. Edsall was passive versus the option and it killed is. Be aggressive. Beat up the QB. His decision making and physical ability will diminish if we make him pay.

LMAO at the depth chart. Six games later, it finally shows that Malcolm Bell is starting with Wortham at CB, and it still shows us as playing a 3-4-4 which we abandoned two months ago for our 4-2-5/4-3-4, which varies based on whether Bouyer-Randle or Chris Shearin is in.

I always thought of the option like I think of the zone defense in basketball. Yes I know one is offense and one is defense. But I think they give some teams trouble because they don't see it often. It's a gimmick. If more teams played it, it wouldn't be as effective.

that spanos thing to me seems to speak a lot. I wonder if Mora felt more complacent at UCLA and just decided Spanos wasn't going to cut it for what he wanted to do this time around. I'm just thinking out loud.

I've said all season the further we get from Spanos the better the defense becomes. Hiring Spanos is just about the only misstep that Mora has made.
