Friday (3/29) games: Sweet 16, Day 1

Interesting that ASU has outscored MSU from everywhere but from the line. ASU executing their game really well, just not scoring enough.

Executing their way to fouling all the starters out. No one from the PAC should ever have anything to say about ugly SEC games after seeing the way ASU plays.

Also, all the ASU bigs are in foul trouble (3+ in 3Q) so that may be a factor.

Do the ASU women moonlight on the wrestling team?

Maybe. I think ASU is the only Pac 12 team that plays hockey, maybe they do that too.

Speaking of ugly, Louisville is shooting 36% and that is scorching compared to OSU. Not much scoring going on in this game.

Did you see the first half of the Michigan and Texas Tech game yesterday for the mens sweet sixteen? Talk about no offense, woof.

Every time the ball goes out high and draws attention away from down low ASU is mugging McCowan.

Thankfully I missed that.

Well, at least the notion that the Pac 12 is a bunch of finesse, high scoring, no defense teams is going out the window tonight. If you watched them before you knew they could be plenty physical but sometimes old reputations are hard to live down.

I quit watching, but did Louisville just score 6 points in about 10 seconds? Went from 38-28 to 44-28 instantaneously.

Carter will be really good next year. Usually takes an off-season to get the freshmen up to speed on conditioning. Hopefully Rickea comes in and is ready to go as a freshman. With those two and Promise Taylor getting over her transfer year, it could be even better next season.

The theme of the night so far has been Pac-12 doomsday. UCLA, OSU and ASU were all major underdogs, hardly a surprise there. Hopefully Oregon can reverse the trend.

I'm not finding these late games very interesting. Maybe not blowouts, but you just don't feel like the higher seeds are going to get a serious challenge.

I honestly think State fans are really gonna like Esmery Martinez next year. She is a baller, her offer list even speaks for itself.

Well, Vic clearly got the refs in his pocket for this game. Every time an ASU player breathes on McCowan it's a foul. Ruden and Elenga just fouled out one after the other without any time going off the clock.

Wow Plebe! So ASU gets to throw forearms and hip checks and you don’t think those are fouls? They have undercut her and put her on the floor multiple times. And with this happening with all their bigs it looks like they were coached to do so.

I didn't see anyone hit the floor on those last two whistles that happened with no time even going off the clock.

From what I've seen McCowan gives as good as she gets. Steamrolls her way into the middle of the paint and routinely gets away with it.

Ekmark 2-10 from 3. ASU absolutely had to have her hot from outside and they didn't get it.

And then McCowan gets to play volleyball against the rim and backboard because no ASU player dare even contest her shot.

Holmes with 7 assists and 0 turnovers

That is all she wrote this game. Lets see if Oregon can win later.

I assume this is Courtnry Eckmark’s final game. Sorry to see her go out with a really bad shooting game.

Wow another "breathing" foul. Good lord almighty. Just end this already.

And here goes Vic again leaving his starters in with a >20 point lead and under a minute to play. Gotta run up that score!

Ugh. OSU is 2-22 behind the arc. It's hard to shoot that badly.
