Let's say Ollie has some dirt on Calhoun and then, let's say, he exposes that dirt to try and win this case. Is he a rat too then?Is he on the floor looking for cheese?

Would he be a rat? Yes or no?If that made him a rat you could go back to supporting him!
Know you didn't ask me...but yes...and no. One difference...GM seemed to do it for spite, Ollie is doing it for 10 million, if he does.Would he be a rat? Yes or no?
For me, spite is a better reason. Ollie actually did something to Miller to warrant revenge. Ollie is doing this for personal greed. If he turns on Calhoun and UConn for money, he would be a rat.Know you didn't ask me...but yes...and no. One difference...GM seemed to do it for spite, Ollie is doing it for 10 million, if he does.
Both could be labeled as "ego protection," though without doubt money holds a far wider positive appeal to posters here, as is reflected in the ongoing comments.Know you didn't ask me...but yes...and no. One difference...GM seemed to do it for spite, Ollie is doing it for 10 million, if he does.

Snakes like rats.Is he on the floor looking for cheese?
Not really and completely disagree. GM undermined Ollie out of spit and having feelings about Ollie getting the Head coaching job. I’m sure he continued undermining K.O. While also running back to JC to report. It also would surprise me if he were doing something similar reporting to the AD. That is why we got rid of GM among other things. Like on any team you can’t have an assistant coach undermining what you are trying to do whether you agree or not. If you disagree that much then GM should have resigned or kept his mouth shut. This is the crap not getting talked about. This is the kind of stuff that also impacts team chemistry and contributes to disfunction. For me, spite is a better reason. Funny that whaler hasn't responded.
Kevin Ollie could shoot a puppy in the head and you'd find an excuse for him.No

Come on man! I’ve stated on numerous posts that K.O. is responsible ultimately for the position he is in I’m simply not going to bash the man and keep kicking our UCONN brother when he is down. If this were some regular old smuck I wouldn’t care as much. His mismanagement of his head coaching opportunity at UCONN doesn’t erase the good and joy he has contributed to UCONN nation. We’ve moved on with Hurley and I’m optimistic. There is no telling how long it will be before we are putting up another NC banner. Until then I’ll focus on the good memories and hope we get from Hurley. Try watching our NCAA run from 2014 again. It will make you feel real good. We have Hurley so focus on the job he is going to do for us and also pull for a settlement.Kevin Ollie could shoot a puppy in the head and you'd find an excuse for him.

UConn fired Ollie for cause because:Both could be labeled as "ego protection," though without doubt money holds a far wider positive appeal to posters here, as is reflected in the ongoing comments.
I don't think he will sue for wrongful termination. Asking for the records of other coaches? This would appear to be a discrimination lawsuit. Surprised no has mentioned that. So this happened under so and so, how was THAT handled.... Who in hear thinks he would not win that....?
Interesting take on this. At some point a lot more is going to come out so we will see.Miller is undermining Ollie’s case to win 10 million dollars against UCONN. That part is true.
Miller didn’t undermine Ollie as head coach, there is a big distinction between the two. Ollie being they typical insecure Pollyanna who to compensate for his ineptitude went on to hire clueless Yes men.
Miller isn’t a rat, he is willingly and happily doing UCONN a service while also exacting revenge on someone who wronged him.
PS: A rat implies Miller had some loyalty to Ollie to begin with. He never did, he is loyal to Calhoun and his paychecks.
You and I have been directly responsive to each other a couple of times, and I find this out of character to your steady statement of preference for settlement. Of course, you owe me nothing, but your last sentence undermines the credibility of what you've written elsewhere.Interesting take on this. I had to look back to what I was commenting on to see why you Reply seemed 'off.'UConn fired Ollie for cause because:
1. They are astounded by those awful revelations and the pain of firing him was tramatic
2. They up and committed they University to a 15-18 million dollar investment in 2016/17 ,that we really didn’t have , in a guy who went off the rails after his astounding success in 2014 . It’s the only way we could save $10,000,000 and maybe our sorry butts.
Clue it’s one of the above.

I would like to point out that whaler still hasn't answered the following question:
If Ollie turns on Calhoun and brings up previously undisclosed violations, would Ollie be a RAT? Yes or no?
It's simply an acknowledgement that I don't know what I don't know. My position remains the same. You and I have been directly responsive to each other a couple of times, and I find this out of character to your steady statement of preference for settlement. Of course, you owe me nothing, but your last sentence undermines the credibility of what you've written elsewhere.
You'd have to first compare his contract language to that of Calhoun's contract. Didn't UConn stress the importance of compliance, etc. in all their newest contracts because of what happened in Calhoun's later years?
Aside from any relevant contractual compliance language for coaches after the NCAA's hoops grade issue, recent media articles reported Susie and AD DB independently emphasized the importance of NCAA and related compliance in meetings with Ollie. In addition to supporting quotes in some media reporting, other reports referenced related "misrepresentation of facts" on at least 3 occasions.I believe it has been established here that at least Calhoun's last contract contained virtually the same language about compliance with rules as Ollie's contract does.
Say that ain't so....I believe it has been established here that at least Calhoun's last contract contained virtually the same language about compliance with rules as Ollie's contract does.
And he also had won three national championships and had coached the team for nearly 30 years. He had built up some good will. A TON, actually! Ollie built up some but how much depends on how much of that championship you attribute to him. And then he spent that good will like a drunken sailor by coaching REALLY POORLY and having kids abandon the program like it was the damn Titanic.Say that ain't so....
It's simply an acknowledgement that I don't know what I don't know.
I don’t have an issue admitting that and don’t have an issue acknowledging if I’m wrong or puruaded to a different view point. We only know what people want us to know. This is a curious stance for this forum.
