We don’t miss on zoom.
We don’t miss on zoom.
Exactly. Calhoun used to recruit over every single position and it seemed to work out very well for him.How people can watch these high level NCAA games and be content with our guard situation is beyond me.
Our returning guards and wings don’t start on or scare about any of these teams.
At next season's end Noah will rain threes for 40 days and 40 nights.33 posts and nobody had posted, "Locke him in," or such?
I'm surprised, unless it's in the other thread.
Post/Handle?Hearing that we're the strong favorite to land him.
Locke is not a lock. But we are in good shape
Hopefully this thread does not get locked, soon.
Every position should be recruited over. Thats the nature of sports, if kids are afraid of a competition for minutes, then they need to get better lol.talented but timid. Totally agree.

Unless they don't play defenseEvery position should be recruited over. Thats the nature of sports, if kids are afraid of a competition for minutes, then they need to get better lol.
And it shouldn’t be a surprise to them either. We need shooters. And guys who can score will play more than guys who can’t

If Locke wants to see the floor in Storrs. He'll play defense.Agreed 100%. Hurley really does get the most out of guys defensively a lot of the time. RJ and Tyrese were both known as pretty suspect defenders coming in to this season. Rese looked solid all year, and RJ (despite what some people say on here) was actually really good.
Even if we bring in a guy like Locke who isn't known for defense, I don't worry about it because Hurley demands a lot on that end and the guys respond.
He is supposed to finish all of his zoom meetings todayAny idea on Locke's timeline?
Great guard play has always been the key to March success especially for us. Always should be upgrading this positiontalented but timid. Totally agree.

20 mins.Any idea on Locke's timeline?
What is your basis for saying it doesn’t look good right now? I haven’t heard much either way, so I’m genuinely curious. He is supposed to finish all of his zoom meetings today
I imagine he will announce by the end of this week if not earlier
But I wont lie it does not look great right now
"The Ville" is why I dont think it looks good right nowWhat is your basis for saying it doesn’t look good right now? I haven’t heard much either way, so I’m genuinely curious.

i'm fully aware. but given that we don't have any PFs that can shoot, going small with martin and aj could be the best workaround. they arent good shooters either but are more versatile on offense than akok and springs given their passing and ability to put the ball on the floor. No, the 4 man is the most critical because he’s drawing a big away from the basket. We just don’t have any that can shoot.
With crowds expected next season there was an increase in the salary capWhat is in the “water” at Maryland this transfer session?

not saying it's not ideal by any means but if nothing else, martin/aj at the 4 ensures we have at least 3 competent shooters on the floor plus sanogo, whereas if martin/aj are at the 3 then we'll probably only have 2 competent shooters on the floor.
of course getting a PF transfer that can shoot 40% from 3 would solve this problem but i'm trying to work with what we got
i'd normally agree that a PF doesnt need to be a great 3 pt shooter, but thats assuming there's at least 3 other good shooters in the lineup, which we dont have. akok at 26% last year isnt good enough to play alongside martin/aj and sanogo. counting on a big jump from him for that to work.Akok can shoot. I think Johnson can shoot. I don't think a PF needs to be a great 3 point shooter, just enough of a threat.
ThisSeems like it's most likely us vs. Louisville right now.
