This is Ollie's recruit and a good one at that. Here's the scoop.
Have to love opposing fans contemp for JC. See the first comment posted in that article. Great that we have KO on the bench as he is continuing getting some great commits to come to UCONN. Also, love that most of these recruits are at the bottom half of the top 100 as those seem to be the players that Calhoun has developed the best and we have had our best success.

I've said from the beginning. Ollie is a recruiting machine. Not only does he have the nba experience,he's a class act and all the recruits talk about how he talks to them on a personal level. Howling he cares. Btw anyone have videos of facey

Just saying, people are throwing around the word "stud" and "elite" but Facey is not close at this point nor was SJU really recruiting Facey. Not sure what I walked into? Calhoun does a great job at developing raw talent in the post. I already gave him credit for that. Not really sure what the measure of developing talent is, but Lavin has put quite a few into the pros himself. Lavin is also has several decades less experience coaching-wise than Calhoun does. I'd expect that to be the case.

Funny stuff.......Memphis, USC and Xavier on the list and recent offers from Florida, FL ST, Texas and Indiana but St Johns isn't that interested?

Great news.......fast rising kid with a great motor and good length. Blocks shots and finishes around the rim...body is okay already and with work will be a beast.

Great news on the Husky home front and super job by the whole staff.... Herbst evidently put the KO on this one!

Its a good start, we're happy.

Duffy had this one posted.

MCNPA while you would like to give time to Lavin to get guys in the pro's this isn't close. While Lavin was selling UCLA our guy was selling a cellar dwelling ex-Yankee Conference team. And in no time he had contracts in the hands of Tate George, Scott Burrell and Chris Smith to play in the NBA......and since then the story is well known. As Fishy said, if Mr Facey wants to get to the next level and be the best he can be he made the right choice!!

PF recruit with you know who on the bench. I expect great improvement if he puts in the same work as our assistant coach who was arguably our best at that position.

Facey at most gets one year under Jim Calhoun so he better learn fast. I gave credit to Jim Calhoun for his ability to develop players. Not sure what more Uconn fans want from me here. Just saying that I've seen a lot of Facey and he's real raw and not a stud at this point. Good motor and solid athlete. And to repeat, SJU did not pursue him hard. SJU has quite a few other prospects they are more interested in than Facey and only one scholarship as of right now.

Ah hell, pull the scholly. Thanks for the heads up Johnny come lately. Everybody cancel the excitement.

great news, and just in case y'all didn't know this, this board is bi-polar

:D

as any of the names other people prefer to be our coach over Ollie ever land the level of recruits Ollie already has? in less than two years too

Or he didn't purse them? Whatever he'll be a very good player I'm sure and good luck with Lavin and his Top 25 athletes.........

I think Facey is a good addition. To put it in perspective though Georgia Tech has the #23 recruiting class for 2013 on this date the last I checked. Georgia Tech has signed 1 recruit and that is Solomon Poole a SG ranked #50 by ESPN. It can easily be argued UConn is still out of the top 25 for 2013 classes with the addition of Facey #99. Still a really positive addition to the program!

XRM is our best shot as everyone knows.

You are probably correct. SJU just had a huge (sizewise) class of what 7-8 players. Also had 7 last year, though only 5 returning. God's Gift is the lone senior and the rest have at least 2 years, correct? I also don't think any of SJU's players will be early entry, without vast improvements to their game.

SJU might as well swing for the fences and a top 25 recruit.

Facey may not be "a stud" player, but he is at a similar level of a player SJU brought in this year with Obekpa. Not quite the same game, but similar all around level, IMO.

SJU could do a lot worse than Facey, but with only one scholarship they might as well swing away and hope to get one of the studs in 2013.

Calhoun will probably still be around the program after he retires. Just not as an in-game coach.

Still waiting to see the rankings but Iverson, Fahey and Calhoun are a great foundation going forward. Land a great Center (or 2) with that crowd and the next 2 years should play out fine.

not sure where you get your info to develop your opinion

but when Jim Calhoun wants him
when other top programs offer him
when he's rated top 100 by services

I tend to assume he's pretty good

Just saying

We know your just sayin'. And it's getting tedious. A HS junior who is raw? I'm shocked. Sounds like we got a big kid on the come. That's a good thing.
