Nah he hasn’t. I knew him at Fairfield and he was a very genuine guy.

Money and power changes people.
The whole point is he’s no more of a genuine guy than most other big east coaches. Yet he’s been anointed as some standard of good. It was all PR to help recruiting. It’s a bunch of bs. He has selfish ambition. As does just about every coach who has made it to that level.

Unless Cooley has moved addresses since the 2014 fire, it seems his home in RI has been listed for sale on Zillow.

Considering how this saga has unfolded, it would totally not surprise me if he listed this house for the drama.

It’s scary how quickly information travels on the internet. That would be hilarious, but I don’t think Cooley is the level of rich where he can pull a stunt like that with two multi million dollar contracts in his face haha

I actually feel for you guys. Cooley is doing this as busch league as possible
Same with me. It’s total betrayal and devastation! Cooley had a new contract on the table making him a top 5 highest paid college BB coach-all the while producing very little deserving of that. I actually even feel bad for the childish fans who hate on everything UConn. Now we and the entire league can hate on Georgetown together. Pray the Friars recover quickly. God bless.

LOL, he lives in East Greenwich. It’s like saying you want out of Hartford if you live in Middletown. He bleeds Providence.
It is effectively a suburb of Providence and both Ed and his wife grew up in Providence and worked there. It is not all about the money, other things sometimes actually matter. I wish Ed well but the late trajectory of the team and the tone of press conferences for that matter - drop some hints at what’s going on behind the scenes.

Sorry Chief I have to take that one. I remember coming here to break that news. I’m not even plugged in like that, it was really just lucky that I found out about that. So I’m going to take my one bit of little insider credit! Lol
I did not break his announcement news - I predicted it would happen a month or two earlier before school started.

That's a nice crib. No logos anywhere though.

"Ed Cooley and his wife have placed their East Greenwich home on the market for just under $2 million in the past 24 hours. But there is a twist to the timeline. The disclosure form on the home was signed by Cooley nearly three weeks ago on March 3."

the internet is so creepy today.

Seems like he made up his mind weeks ago to go to gtown and is now butchering trying to cover how bad the exit looks with how their season went. A quick exit would’ve been best for everyone involved.

You can’t help but think that absolute beatdown we laid on them in Storrs helped him realize PC will never be on our level.

So consideration for a move festered and grew in the back of his mind.
makes sense. pc's last 6 games

02/22 @ UCONN L 87-69
02/26 @ Georgtown W 88-68 - closed the deal
03/01 vs Xavier L 94-89
03/04 vs Seton Hall L 82-58

03/09 @ UConn L 73-66
03/17 @ Kentucky L 61-53

So he knew Patrick was gone 3 weeks ago, we all did. Cooley is low not waiting until he took the GTown job, seriously.

I think it's pretty likely that Norlander rumor was about Cooley. From Mar 1, if the paper was signed Mar 3...

Could’ve been the loss to St John’s too.

Someone posted on the PC board what is being described as the signed acknowledgement for selling of Cooley's house. It's dated 3/3/2023.
