Yes - and both Okafor and Gordon were sophomores. Neither was what he became the following year as juniors.

To illuminate further, we were a 5-seed in 2003, a 2-seed (unquestionably the best 2-seed) in 2004. You feel the need to debate which version of our Huskies was better, go for it... but frankly I think you are an island of 1 in that argument. Everyone else on here would pick the 2004 Huskies over the 2003 version with little to any argument.

Anyway... I would have liked our chances if that 2003 Sweet 16 game against UT and Barnes had been played outside of Texas... I would have liked our chances A LOT.

You're creating a false debate, clearly not what I said. Why would you completely make up that I think the 2003 Huskies were better than the 2004 Huskies? I didn't say anything remotely close to that.

I said Texas was the #1 seed with a little bit more experience than us but I certainly wouldn't say they were more talented than us.
 
I thought that it was going to be tough to get this kid out of the south, I really don't like our chances here.

Bump. So its Cardwell Week. He made it out of UT without committing which seems like a decent sign. How are we feeling here at this point? Any of the optimism diminished? Any winky-faces, weather reports etc....?

Careful. How many times have we heard that recruits don't commit at the visit but instead wait till the following week so they can tell the other coaches? You may have DOOMED us.....................but the idea of him coming to First Night and committing on the spot sure sounds good.

Yeah concerned it’s Monday and he’s calling the other coaches we aren’t sure of anything until he steps on campus Friday.

This is the best mixtape of him available.

If we're going to get a lower rated big, this is what we need. Aggressiveness, intensity on defense. Athleticism and rim running. If he has the ability to hedge hard and recover, game over.

PG and C are the hardest positions on defense. It might take a year or two, but he could be a monster.

Much better skills for hurley's system than a post up, back to the basket scorer.
