Durham transferring

Maybe Ollie did ask him to leave.....Oz is the messenger....stop killing the messenger. If it was good news you'd be kissing Oz's freaking feet, but because its not great news everyone wants him to shut up now. The real question is if KO asked him to leave then why? Is someone coming in? Or is he really just cleaning house?
No, these tweets are inexcusable. Honestly they're bad enough that the athletic department should be made aware. If we're cleaning house then oz should be gone too. He's been a psychopath lately.

Say what?

Who the hell else is going to leave now?

People were talking Gilbert considering it earlier in the week. I'm not speculating, just relaying what others were saying. Hoping for the best.

Someone needs to let UConn athletics know about Oz. It is absolutely NOT a good look for this program, it's coaches and its fans. You think Durham isn't going to see those tweets?? It's COMPLETE dirty laundry airing. Someone needs to tell administration, who hopefully will then tell KO to get his boy to STF U.

Two things. @UConNation had inside information that Juwan was contemplating leaving even after Oz made his post. It's policy not to disclose this but he pm'd me last week so this announcement was not surprising to me
Second, if KO is using Oz as a mouthpiece he would never have told Oz to make a statement there were no more transfers if he was in the process to tell the kid to leave.

Ollie's messenger should be official team press releases, not some hanger on with a twitter account. It's not a great look for Uconn. Come play for us, but if it doesn't work out, my buddy will air all our dirty laundry on twitter.

They should really shut up.

It is a cover-your-butt move.

This is why I don't need the coaches to address any of the departures. Wanting "explanations" is lame.

Hypothetically, if this is true, I can understand cleaning house to bring in players willing to work much harder, but you can't allow kids to be disparaged on Twitter, nor can you provide official "explanations." You decide what is best, even if the fans are clamoring, and then you go about your work. You don't try to cover your butt. It is unprofessional, and worse it is lame.

I'm not saying Oz has any real insight, since he has been VERY wrong on his "no more transfers" claim.

He was also unhinged with regard to Glen Miller.

I dont want to get into this discussion again because ive done so before. But Oz isnt ollie's msnger. Oz is a fan that has info. I wont argue that calling durham soft was out of lind because it was. But saying he was asked to leave is not out of bounds to me

Just being honest with everyone....

Can't lie how I feel, the only recent player to leave Uconn that hurts me is MAL and he didn't leave, he just decided not to show up.

Enoch & Durham were both horrible & Jackson is not a Uconn type of player.

I am over it, go get some players now Mr. C.

Top reporter told me yesterday that alot of this was planned and needed. Vague but interesting

Something was hideously wrong in two areas this year. Selfishness on offense. And the complete breakdown of the defense. Overblown egos and lack of hard work can explain the two most glaring deficits of the team.

It also means the players did not buy into Ollie. Not all of them, but enough of them.

They were the exact opposite of those unheralded players from 3 years ago who seemed to hustle like crazy.

I could see this being the case. This offseason activity has been too chaotic not to be planned.

Maybe the chips start falling our way on Thursday with Diarra's visit

This doesn't in any way absolve Ollie of a shred of blame. He recruited each of those players to the program, and in doing so I'd imagine he knew full well their work ethic, family interference, etc. If he was oblivious to these things, he didn't do his homework. If he knew and took a risk, he's reaping the seeds he's sown.

Well let's hope there's a plan then lol. Maybe KO's no more Mr nice guy on the recruiting trail is carrying over to the bench too

Interesting if true. I think we should give time for the situation to iron out. I have friends still at the University, and I have heard from the scout team and etc. that many of the players were not committed to the cause. After losing to Wagner they did not put in the effort and did not see themselves as a serious contender. Ollie likely noticed, and if husky99 was told that this was planned, I'd like to think he took action. Ollie deserves the chance to make things right.

Major difference in my eyes. It's one thing for Oz to talk about potential transfers to his heart's content, but revealing that a kid was asked to leave rather than left on his own volition and then following it by disparaging him in another tweet is definitely not the right thing to do. It doesn't appear Durham has done anything to warrant that kind of treatment and if KO wants to clarify the situation he should step up himself and discuss Durham's reasons for leaving, rather than potentially feeding it to a third party, unsanctioned mouthpiece.

Let's call it what it is. Asinine.

If I'm another school, I'm saying "UCONN is going to stick you in the back and plaster it all over the internet. Come here, we actually care about you."
