I think we will have to accept FBS independence and 5 more men's and women's basketball championships, I'm ok with thathuh?
the goal is to build a P4-caliber team, to get us P4-level W/L results, and thus to get us to the P4.
yes, I'm worried about the P4, for the future of UConn athletics.
w/ regard to the coordinators, agree on offense, disagree on Defense. Brock is good; We need a real offensive mind over there who can be creative in a sustainable way (ie. not just doing trick plays to feign creativity). Sammis got his shot, I was fine with that. everybody deserves a shot. This isn't working, IMO. Hope I'm wrong and he draws up some better stuff.
I was in J section.I saw two teams, one poised and one playing tentatively. I was in K section on the 50, what a God forsaken joke. If we had converted on 4th and short late in the 4th in the red zone, game over and we win. Instead, what dejected drive home.
Maybe he needs to call a play that fangnano can make, then...I could say the same to you. The defense was the biggest culprit, but you should face facts and realize Fagnano misses too many easy throws when they matter. In 2 crucial situations he threw behind the TE, although on the 2nd one Honig/Hansen still should've caught it.
Ask yourself this: on 3rd and 2 why did Delaware have 9 men in the box to sell out and stop the run and Sammis still stuck with the run with no option to audible and go to a pass play? Because Sammis had no confidence Fagnano can make the simple pass at a crucial moment.
Our receivers actually make Joe look less worse than he is.Fagnano choked plain and simple. He misses a lot of easy throws. Evers was so bad last year, so Fagnano was like see a mini glass of water in the desert.
The defense is weaker than wet toilet paper.
If he doesn't throw the ball behind his shoulder, Hansen is literally walking in to the endzone. 120 other college teams can make that play.Maybe he needs to call a play that fangnano can make, then...
He was a solid play caller last year. So far he gets an F this year.

He was rolling to his right and could have easily kept the ball with enough grass in front of him. He's a 7th year senior. You'd think at this point he has enough experience to call his own number when the chance/s presents itself. Why call a low percentage pass play in a can't fail situation. Why not run a qb keeper. The play call was idiotic.
Fagnano should be able to make those throws. They are easy throws to make. Sammis cannot be blamed for that.Maybe he needs to call a play that fangnano can make, then...

He clearly doesn't make that throw at a high percentage. So why keep calling it?? We literally turned the ball over on a similar call the previous possession. If he doesn't throw the ball behind his shoulder, Hansen is literally walking in to the endzone. 120 other college teams can make that play.
You absolutely can't blame Sammis on a call that allows your player to walk in...

You shouldn't even have a play in your playbook if you can't execute. Nevermind call it twice in two drives with the game on the line.
Yup, they knew every hole in a 3-3-5.outcoached.
I don't know what you want me to say.He clearly doesn't make that throw at a high percentage. So why keep calling it?? We literally turned the ball over on a similar call the previous possession.

Also, when they converted the 4th down with 18 seconds left, the officials stopped the clock but never wound it. It is suppose to be wound as soon as the ball is placed. It just stayed at 18 seconds before the snap. They might have had to spike it or use their timeout. They may not have been able to run that last play that got them just enough yardage to make that field goal good. The 10 second runoff after the Delaware injury was a joke. If that guy hadn’t been hurt on the play, they would’ve run off at least 15 seconds and they don’t kick a field goal with two seconds left.
Good points - Mora has little margin of error and sadly he can't work with that reality.I could say the same to you. The defense was the biggest culprit, but you should face facts and realize Fagnano misses too many easy throws when they matter. I should blame the OC for asking his 7-year collegiate veteran QB to make a routine play?? I mean really...I don't know what you expect me to say...
As the offensive coordinator it's your job to make due with what you have. If it's a low percentage play because of some personnel deficiency then yes, you don't call that play. This isn't complicated. Every team and basically every player has strengths and weaknesses. It's the coaches job to know what those strengths and weaknesses are and call a game around it. This is like coaching 101 stuff.I don't know what you want me to say.

Okay, make do with what we have. So in your judgment, what do we have??As the offensive coordinator it's your job to make due with what you have. Joey made that throw last year. For some reason he doesn’t make that throw this year.As the offensive coordinator it's your job to make do with what you have. Run the football on more than one down when you have first and goal at the 2Okay, make do with what we have. So in your judgment, what do we have??
Didn't he get roasted last week for running too much and being too conservative at the end of the Syracuse game??? He got absolutely killed for that.Run the football on more than one down when you have first and goal at the 2
This. This isn't OC's fault. The play call was correct. Joe simply could not make the easy throw. If he doesn't throw the ball behind his shoulder, Hansen is literally walking in to the endzone. 120 other college teams can make that play.

The reality is that he does enough to win games. The defense lost this one. Anyone who thinks differently is insane.Joey made that throw last year. For some reason he doesn’t make that throw this year.
It’s who he is, why he’s in Year 7 of ball, and why he’s at our University. And he’s our best QB so let that sink in.
Ball State attendance (turnstile, not tickets distributed) should be revealing. Is it hockey season yet? Well, just couple more weeks anyway.
