yes, I'm worried about the P4, for the future of UConn athletics.

w/ regard to the coordinators, agree on offense, disagree on Defense. Brock is good; We need a real offensive mind over there who can be creative in a sustainable way (ie. not just doing trick plays to feign creativity). Sammis got his shot, I was fine with that. everybody deserves a shot. This isn't working, IMO. Hope I'm wrong and he draws up some better stuff.

I think we will have to accept FBS independence and 5 more men's and women's basketball championships, I'm ok with that

Maybe he needs to call a play that fangnano can make, then...

He was a solid play caller last year. So far he gets an F this year.

Our receivers actually make Joe look less worse than he is.

They make a lot of catches that many receivers would drop.

Our defense was god awful but we might need to change QBs and or alternate with Evers - which I took a lot of flack for suggesting last week.

We paid the price today for the approach of leave the same QB in all game regardless of what situation calls for.

If he doesn't throw the ball behind his shoulder, Hansen is literally walking in to the endzone. 120 other college teams can make that play.

You absolutely can't blame Sammis on a call that allows your player to walk in...

You would have a point if there was a QB on the roster who can make those throws better than he could.

We don't. Evers isn't even the second string now apparently.

I have no idea why Sammis did that. His playcalling is boneheaded to begin with. Nobody has insight into his logic.

And your question has little validity because on 4th and short he called a pass play instead of a run. This was our last posesession in regulation. He trusts him plenty.

He was rolling to his right and could have easily kept the ball with enough grass in front of him. He's a 7th year senior. You'd think at this point he has enough experience to call his own number when the chance/s presents itself.
He also missed Hansen in OT for a walk in TD on a throw that traveled maybe 5 yards in the air.

He clearly doesn't make that throw at a high percentage. So why keep calling it?? We literally turned the ball over on a similar call the previous possession.

You shouldn't even have a play in your playbook if you can't execute. Nevermind call it twice in two drives with the game on the line.

Just run a QB keeper on 4th and short. Tush push. Anything. So stupid.

I should blame the OC for asking his 7-year collegiate veteran QB to make a routine play?? I mean really...I don't know what you expect me to say...

Also, when they converted the 4th down with 18 seconds left, the officials stopped the clock but never wound it. It is suppose to be wound as soon as the ball is placed. It just stayed at 18 seconds before the snap. They might have had to spike it or use their timeout. They may not have been able to run that last play that got them just enough yardage to make that field goal good.

Good points - Mora has little margin of error and sadly he can't work with that reality.

If you haven't figure out that your QB has sketchy touch on short passes then I don't know what to tell you. Joe is at his best gunning the ball downfield.

As the offensive coordinator it's your job to make due with what you have. If it's a low percentage play because of some personnel deficiency then yes, you don't call that play. This isn't complicated. Every team and basically every player has strengths and weaknesses. It's the coaches job to know what those strengths and weaknesses are and call a game around it. This is like coaching 101 stuff.

Joey made that throw last year. For some reason he doesn’t make that throw this year.

It’s who he is, why he’s in Year 7 of ball, and why he’s at our University. And he’s our best QB so let that sink in.

This. This isn't OC's fault. The play call was correct. Joe simply could not make the easy throw.

Delaware, another FCS program just last year, has a QB light years better than Joe

It is what it is.

The reality is that he does enough to win games. The defense lost this one. Anyone who thinks differently is insane.
