Death Storm 2.0

I'm in Northeastish NJ. I've been trying to stay ahead of the storm. I have a 20 year old snow blower. Quality machine, but it's compact so it doesn't have the weight to sometimes get through the really bad stuff the plows throw on to our driveway/sidewalk.

Wen out last night at 11pm and again at 6:45am. I figure that's enough to just wait it out now. Snowblower is still working, but I think I damaged it on the annoying free paper they throw on our driveway during the last storm so it's very shaky. It deserves a good maintenance after this winter.

“Oh look another snowstorm”

I’ve done a rubber paddle modification on three or four snowblowers (google it, they sell kits and there are hundreds of links). It scrapes the snow off of the inside of your barrel and throws it much better. Especially on my older Ariens, the improvement was amazing. My blower mows thru heavy wet snow like the 23/24 Huskies.
Never heard of that. Brilliant

This is probably what happened to mine. How did you confirm that? I can't push it into the snow so the auger is useless without drive.
Auger still works and throws snow. Drive doesn’t. My driveway is flat though so I can still just push manually. It just sucks a little more.

I wouldn't say this is just another snowstorm. It's probably the worst since 1978. Dumping 36" now in some places.
Yep... but it totally depends where you live. For me in the Farmington valley this isn't even top three of the past decade.

I have a hilly driveway, but downhill from my garage. Snow is deeper than the snowblower is high and I can't push it into the snow at all. It's hard to push even in the garage.

Just came in. 10-11 inches tops and not too heavy for the snowblower. This storm wasn't bad at all. The one a few weeks ago was much worse.

Just watched that video... now I need to find someone to do the work. Thanks!

My driveway goes north south. I did one pass headed north and it all came back at me despite the chute being aimed east. I used reverse a lot after.
