Death Storm 2.0

Yup. Had a Honda track drive 2 stage. Never met a storm it couldn’t handle. Ended up selling it 10 years later for almost what I paid for it to a pro. Said it’s the only machines he uses
That’s my machine in Ct. Beast machine. Expensive but worth it if you will be in house a long time. I LOVE blowing snow with it, look forward to it. Especially when my neighbors come out with their pea shooters.

The thing with this storm is the wind. The onshore waves are going to a serious problem on eastern facing beaches. The Marconi stairs in Wellfleet are still there at Cape Cod NS. They were rebuilt this Spring. I will be surprised if they survive. This will be a bear for road crews to clear with the remaining snow piles form Jan 26 storm.

.-.
Eerily quiet here. Some are saying this will be 3 feet, historic storm. With more to come later this week.

Mine can handle 2 feet of heavy snow with no issues.
I may have previously had my engine power lever set too low. Had it on high rev during last storm.

A guy I grew up with in Philadelphia owns a transmission shop. He told me all these pickup trucks with plows ramming into snow is great for his business.

I’m in Vermont and we at least to this point haven’t seen more than an inch or two of light snow. What’s happening in Connecticut?

Snow total predictions lessened overnight. Some wind gusts up to 68mph.

1/4 mile visibility.

Snow falling through noon time.

Not mine. Can’t clear the chute.
I’ve done a rubber paddle modification on three or four snowblowers (google it, they sell kits and there are hundreds of links). It scrapes the snow off of the inside of your barrel and throws it much better. Especially on my older Ariens, the improvement was amazing. My blower mows thru heavy wet snow like the 23/24 Huskies.

This is insane. I can't judge the depth here because I can't see out of any window. When I opened the sliding door a pile of snow fell in the house, so over a foot I think. Just measured, 12" exactly and not in a drift.

Meteorologist said if this was Hurricane Season, the Northeast Blizzard would be comparable to a Category 2 Hurricane in terms of pressure (967 mb by Monday). So a frozen Cat 2 hurricane.

Going to venture to the driveway and do a first pass with the snowblower at 9:30 or so. Still have power. I'm in the extreme impact area. in Mass.

Damn. I need that. My Ariens died in the wet snow last year. Had to have the carburetor fixed this fall. It likes slightly sticky snow, but not super wet heavy snow.

Edit: It died again. Didn't move more than about 2 feet into the snow and the power to the wheels stopped. Maybe snapped an axle or something. I am utterly screwed. We have close to 14" already.
