KO is available.
I don't know him personally. I know he loves the Big East. I know he loves UConn and considers it one of the few top jobs in the country. You know him and his situation well enough to say he wouldn't even listen?
I think there were other factors in that though. He thought he’d be living in South Carolina before long because he loves Hilton Head and he had some issues with UConn giving the program the resources he was demanding. It all got worked out, but it was real close. Thank Pat Calhoun for that.JC himself said he was a hair away from going to South Carolina around 97
Dan just doesn’t seem like an NBA coach to me. He’s need to really overhaul his personality. If Dan Hurley accomplishes what he wants to in Storrs, his next job will be in the League. He has even stated so himself.
Could you imagine an nba players reaction to him screaming at them? I think it would be electric, although I suppose he could channel the inner thibs on the psycho meterDan just doesn’t seem like an NBA coach to me. He’s need to really overhaul his personality.
If they offer double your UConn salary what do you do?
There's a chance he goes there.... On vacation.
Tom Petty fans? You know people who vacation in Gainesville?
Not the kind you want to associate with. You know people who vacation in Gainesville?
Not on this planet it isn’t. Some of you guys are just so NEWBIE-Centric you can’t accept reality. The NEWBIE is not comparable to the SEC in prestige, money or any other way. As for recruiting, you can always convince guys from Jersey to go to Florida. Getting guys to go the other easy takes the talent.UConn is a better basketball job than Florida, and his recruiting ties are in the Northeast.

Here’s the problem with your analysis. UConn isn’t a top 10 program, and the New Big East is not the Big East. It has exactly 1 team people consider a power, and which is deserving of that consideration. And “anywhere else” would most certainly not be a step down. Most Big 10, most original ACC, Most B12 and SEC would be steps up. When your regular season champ can’t crack the top 10 all year, that tells you everything you need to know about how prestigious the NEWBIE is.UConn is a top 10 program in the country again now that we are back in the Big East. Unless one of Duke, UK, KU, or the NBA come calling, anywhere else would be a step down. We are not in that 2nd tier like the Xaviers, Providences, etc of the world (aka, potential stepping stone programs). We are the elite of the elite.
Seton Hall would give us Willard, Kadary Richmond, Yetna and a player to be named later for Hurley.I have a hard time seeing Hurley leaving except for Rutgers (NJ), Seton Hall (alma mater; NJ). Just strikes me as a guy who is all about the northeast and his home turf.
Technically, yeah cause it’s based on some idiot off the board’s speculationWe’re not allowed to speculate transfers but this dumpster of a thread is okay?
Yeah so here’s a newsflash… We are top level program. There’s nothing that Hurley wants to do that he can’t get done here. Sure, some Big Ten or SEC program could offer him more money, but then he would be away from his family, out of his region, and starting from scratch. We need to make some noise in the tourney in order for Danny to good offers from any top level schools. I think he is making over 3 million a year from uconn.
When does he scream at kids? Refs, sure, but players? I haven’t seen it.Could you imagine an nba players reaction to him screaming at them? I think it would be electric, although I suppose he could channel the inner thibs on the psycho meter
No, he just chest bumps players. When does he scream at kids? Refs, sure, but players? I haven’t seen it.

What the hell is Newbie and Newbie-Centric?Not on this planet it isn’t. Some of you guys are just so NEWBIE-Centric you can’t accept reality. This, I think he said in an interview before that some day he would consider the NBA if it was avail. More was something along the lines of everyone wants to challenge themselves to coach at the highest level. If Danny returns UConn to elite borderline blue blood status, I think he’s a lifer. Maybe only the NBA threatens that.
HugeBig difference, right?
