Newton only took 4 shots. And he hardly ever went to the rim.

We ran almost nothing for Karaban. He only had 5 shots.

Those two need to be much more involved with the offense.
We apparently run offense for our non-shooters. Our shooters also need to work hard to shoot, not defer. We perform to many nonproductive passes that result in turnovers and run the clock down. Help!

It's not who they lost to. I think Creighton is a good team. It is how they lost. Creighton was on the ropes with 10:18 left, and Hurley's offense scored 7 points over the next 10:15.
I think we were equally gassed. TOs and missed shots by both teams probably because of the energy expended by both teams on defense is the way I saw it. Everybody talks about what McDermott was saying during the TO but Hurley saw that his team was not getting enough movement to open spots

They're 4-2 in their last 6. But you deliberately brought in older data just to be more miserable about it.

Certainly a decision!

Who did they beat? Marquette at home and who else…oh yeah DePaul, Butler and Georgetown so you brought worthless data back to prove me wrong. We’re supposed to win those including Marquette at home.

Nice try!

Ok, so other than beating the absolute brakes off of a top-10 team, the other ones DONT COUNT! Got it, PC fan.

I’m sorry you’re right everything is fine my bad. What was I thinking they played a good game the other day so it’s ok to absolutely blow a very winnable game as a program like ours what am I thinking? Again, forgive me for being a PC fan :rolleyes:whatever that means lol.

would have liked to see Jackson used in a double screen for Hawkins if his defender is going to sag off him like that. He'd have had all day to shoot. Maybe He rolls off the screen for an alley opportunity if Scheierman were to crash out.

The problem lies between his ears.
Tell you what, go to work tomorrow in front of 10,000 screaming people taunting you, telling you that you suck, and try to do your job, and tell us how it feels.

Hurley and staff are commiting coaching malpractice.

Collectively the worst game we played…really?

People complained about our defense when teams broke down our guards and shot near 50%. Our defense was really good today. Creighton shot 39% and Alexander made 3 last second on the shot clock baskets. Without those shots we win the game.

If we play defense like today I like our chances in the remaining games and tournament games, especially on neutral court in tournaments.

Just had a bad shooting game. Everyone below season shooting percentage, not just AJ. Sanogo had a good game but was well below 50% from the field like everyone.

Would have been nice to win this game but our recently improved defense and shooting at normal percentage going forward bodes well. There were positives to be taken from today’s game.
I agree it was not the worst game we played - that talk is ridiculous. While I don’t think we ever really were in a position to win the game, J Hawkins a bit more careful on that shot and we are tied and heading into overtime vs a team that is almost unbeatable at home.

Our team reminds me of teams we used to beat - scrappy, working hard, but lacking the composure to finish a game. Refusing to take the lead when it was handed to us - well that’s a good sign of a team working hard but a middling team.

We are mid-level Big East Team with alot of hype.

But our guys play hard and give it what they have on the floor - no reason to hate on this team.

Not sure how anyone can watch this game and wonder why Newton wasn’t very good. What’s his strength? Getting to the hole right. And where was Andres defender all day and I mean all day? He was in the middle looking to make a play, the smart play which was either double down on Sanogo to make the interior passes tougher or stop penetration or at least assist in stopping it. The reality is we should have been trying to get a few more open looks for Alex but we ran nothing.

The problem today was the inability to adjust the dare that McDermott threw at the Huskies. Basically we have zero concern that AJ can beat us so find another way. We didn’t, nothing new!
And it’s not like we haven’t seen this before. McDermott did the exact same thing with Whaley, who Hurley also played too much for his defense even when the defensive scheme from Creighton shut us down when he was in. This is what they do. Didn’t need to bench Jackson, just play him 5-6 minutes less.

Contrarian position…rather than benching AJax I’d put him at the top of the key in practice and have him drill that one shot over and over again until he can make it 50% of the time. From the top of the key he can facilitate getting the ball to the open shooter or dumping it into the post. If they leave him open take and make the shot. The coaching staff has had him sitting out on the three-point line, and he is ineffective from there.

Newton had a TRIPLE-DOUBLE on Tuesday against a top 15 team and did not show up yesterday. Yet Andre gets all the flak.

People just hate Andre. There's no other explanation. Its really sad.
Bruh andre is as bad shooting the ball as he is great defensively. He brings alot to the table but the offense is extremely limited and easy to defend when he is on the court that’s obvious.

Collectively was the worst game we played, enough blame to go around. However, the offensive funk that AJ is something I have never seen before.
Creighton played a man to man with no one guarding AJ, no one. He literally was at the three point line with his man standing 18 ft away in the lane. His shooting is horrible against zero defense. Could you imagine his shooting % if he was guarded? He needs to sit until he gets some semblance of confidence and shot.
I agree, however he won’t shoot when guarded lol he passes when he’s open by 20 feet lol

5’? Too far. Nothing but 2-handed dunks. I’ll let a one-hander slide IF it goes in. They threw away at least 4 points today trying for SportsCenter Top 10 plays. And they get to stay in the game! JC would have escorted them to the tunnel.
Oh my God, YES!!! The highlight BS has to stop. You are losing game after game. Just get the two points!!! If you start blowing teams out, then you can do the highlight crap again.

Why can’t people understand that he cannot shoot. His stoke is bad, really bad. No jump shot, no runner, no step back, etc. Was Larry Bird the most athletic guy in the NBA?
Maybe Jackson read this after the Creighton game
