I agree, we have become the villains.

I think it's absolutely ridiculous, UConn is such an easy team to root for. We aren't even P5 and are a testament to the fact that you don't need to be one of those schools to be successful. A win in the natty game for a school like Purdue wouldn't change much but it means everything for UConn

Go hate on a school like Kentucky, at least we aren't killing college athletics
Who cares - its what happens when you come off repeat national championships in dominant fashion. It’s a good thing. The team should use it as extra motivation to right the ship and make them all these Uconn haters eat crow again. It’s just November.

$10 million a year is to win championships, not to go on Good Morning America, do yoga interviews and scream at the refs like a toddler after losing to Colorado. Get it together Hurley.

I'm not gonna repeat what's probably already been said 50 times already, but I just want to add the no-call when McNeeley got mugged where the CO player was blatantly grabbing his right arm as he tried to get the rebound was complete BS. If the refs call that, we probably win yesterday.

Then again, we should have played better so that 1 or 2 missed calls by the refs wouldn't have affected the outcome. Regardless, the last couple days have sucked (and now we play a very good Dayton team that took UNC and Iowa St to the wire). Totally possible we go 0-3 in Maui but I still believe this team can right itself in time for the tourney. But not gonna be a relative cakewalk like last season.

Also, silver lining: we are still undefeated in Big East play!

I can’t say I’m surprised to be honest (so much so I’ve actually made money these past few days).

We really wasted a whole summer gearing an offense and handing the keys to a 6’3 175 pound combo guard that never played point, let alone run an offense this complicated.

Then our 6th year senior somehow has no concept of time and score and chucks a contested 3 point shot even though we’re down 1 point with 6 seconds left. That’s why we never wanted him to be a starter.

Like do we teach these guys skills outside of shooting 3s and how to run this overhyped offense seriously. We have completely lost the plot to what actually made us great these past two years and it’s worriesome that Hurley has misjudged this team and what actually made us so good these past two years.
Diarra made the best out of a play that got blown up, your brain just doesn’t realize it because that’s how it goes.

Things i'd like to see but hey I'm old school.
1. Stay on your feet when defending. You leave your feet you are going to get nailed most of the time. concept of verticality is over rated.
2. Don't chase cutters over screens, our bigs are going to commit fouls all by themselves, expecting them to help constantly means they will be using up their fouls for sure. Take the cuts away - no face cuts, or just get over the top of the screens.
3. Keep the ball in front of you if you are guarding it. A lot of matador defense being played.
4. You have to make 3's but too much influence on it for me. You have to be able to get the ball to the rim. It's not that every official in the country hates us we just aren't putting enough offensive pressure on our opponents.

There was no play. Diarra got the inbound, didn’t even look at Karaban coming back to the ball, McNeeley half-heartedly cut to the hoop to open up space (no opening), so Diarra took a step back 3

It feels like the design was for Diarra to pitch it back to Karaban who would get a Stewart screen and attack the hoop with Solo in the corner. But it can’t be a broken play since nobody even tried to run a play

Diarra is good at driving the ball. He should’ve 100% taken it to the rim and at least given himself a chance to get fouled. Or an easier to make pull up jumper.

There’s no way a very contested step back 3 down by 1 with that much time on the clock was the right play. No excuse for that. As a 6th year senior.

After the heroics from yesterday the play probably should’ve been Solo’s anyways.

Yeah, if we need a last second shot, I'm giving Solo the ball. He's fearless.
