College Basketball Discussion 12.11.2018-12.17.2018

Houston takes the lead. LSU with no playmakers without Waters (who is too small as is).

Waters hasn't been great, but LSU was awful with him on the bench for that stretch.

He just launched a 40 foot 3 with 24 seconds left of the shot clock. Bailed out by teammate oreb and getting fouled.

Next possession Naz Reid air balls a 3.

Next posssession, Smart tries a contested 30 footer with 20 seconds on the clock.

Next possession, Waters launches a step back contested 25 foot 3 with 20 seconds on the clock.

Not how you win.

Houston and cincy clear number 1 and 2. Houston Memphis and UConn can be monster programs in the future. As of this year UConn clearly behind Houston and Cincinnati at least, probably UCF as well.

Coogs stay undefeated. Should climb a bit, with teams like Nova dropping to Penn.

Sampson just knows how to close.

A Houston win tonight is a good thing. They will be a tough out unless a couple of guys up front become more consistent contributors. Coach 'em up Coach!

I didn't watch the Houston/LSU game but after watching LSU play Memphis and Florida State, does anyone else find Naz Reid as one of the more underwhelming five-star freshmen? So soft physically and emotionally.

I think it's very tough for 5* bigs who aren't dominant defenders to make a huge impact as a freshman.

Very fun game to watch. I especially liked that Dejon Jarreau block on Termont Waters.
The thing about Houston is they aren't event at full strength yet. Jarreau and Fabian White have barely played. Those two guys should make this team even better when we round February.

I think Houston will be a dangerous team come March. Probably a 3-5 seed.

I agree with this.
Personally I think Kelvin Sampson's build has been the best coaching job of his career.
Last night he led Will Wade into deep waters.
He's not as demonstrative as Dan but equally passionate.

I'd say a Houston/Cincy matchup would like be determined by which arena it was at. Different style, D and O, but it would be a good game.

Houston was a Michigan prayer from running to the Championship game last year. Every team after that game wouldve been lower seeded.

lol, that's not how it works.

I wouldve taken them in Every game after that.

A&M?

Houston for sure.

9 seeded Florida ST? Tough matchup but definitely doable with Gray.
And it wouldve been nice for an AAC team to silence that old bat Nun in the FF.

yeah
so except for that Michigan prayer Houston was looking (as a 6 seed) at a 7 seed, a 9 seed, and an 11 seed.

I like those odds.
