They for sure do. And, they've used their money quite liberally when hiring coaches for Men's sports. Don't believe they've done the same when hiring coaches for women's sports. Not surprised. A&M have money to pull coaches
Syracuse job has been open the longest, obviously. All this slow-moving is costing them so many players deciding to enter the transfer portal. Or, since they've entered the last couple of days, perhaps a hire has been made and the players have been informed of their new head coach, and then decided to move on.I think the etiquette is to formally wait until the coaches of teams still playing in postseason (NCAAT and WNIT) finish their season (lose) before they formally interview or announce the various departures from the current school.
As such, BC is still alive in the WNIT as is Marquette so if either Joanna Bernebei-McNamee or Meg Duffy are candidates for P5 schools, no announcement will be forthcoming until the team loses. We know their agents have been busy on the phones drumming up interest if not genuine at least pseudo so to get more money for their client from the current school. That could be why Syracuse, ASU and a few others are still open.
On that etiquette note, I found it extremely odd that the Louisville assistant was announced as Mississippi State HC before the tournament even started.I think the etiquette is to formally wait until the coaches of teams still playing in postseason (NCAAT and WNIT) finish their season (lose) before they formally interview or announce the various departures from the current school.

Maybe Cardoza can land the Butler job. Would be back in the Big East for her.
WVU has more tradition than BC but is it a clear upgrade along the coaching ladder? Surprised JBM would leave when she’s got things turned around in the ACC.
I have heard she is in the mix at UGA, fwiw.I am surprised no one has tried to convince the UCF coach to fill one of the open jobs. Judging by the UConn game she would be a gem!
I saw your earlier comment regarding Coach Purcell. Off the top of my head I know when Coach Schaefer was hired from Texas A&M he was announced in early March and did dual duty until the Texas A&M season was completed. I’ve seen it several ways regarding timing. I’m sure part of it depends on when the former coach leaves and the school the coach is leaving. Coach Walz may not have wanted the distraction of the rumors. On that etiquette note, I found it extremely odd that the Louisville assistant was announced as Mississippi State HC before the tournament even started.
Bernabei has done an okay job of elevating BC from bottom-feeder status to multi-time WNIT entrant, but really she should've done better with that team this year.
How exactly is Duffy being presented as a hot commodity for every big opening? She did an okay job in her first year with the inherited talent, but was still only a 10 seed and lost in the 1st round. This year, WNIT. She hasn't exactly elevated the level of Marquette WBB from where Kieger left it. Hasn't yet proven she can recruit at the level needed to sustain repeat NCAA tournament appearances, much less win NCAAT games.
I read that coach Abe was considered by UVA.I am surprised no one has tried to convince the UCF coach to fill one of the open jobs. Judging by the UConn game she would be a gem!
Wait, what? The UVA Athletic Director had a choice of Katie and chose the Mizzou State coach?I read that coach Abe was considered by UVA.
Agreed. I do think they dropped a Milly plus bag on Joni. Could have gotten better with their money. But I'm not mad that Joni getting paid either. They for sure do. And, they've used their money quite liberally when hiring coaches for Men's sports. Don't believe they've done the same when hiring coaches for women's sports.
In women's volleyball, they went super cheap hiring an assistant coach from Kansas U to lead their program; one NCAA tourney appearance back in 2019 and that's as much as she's accomplished. So, sometimes you do get what you pay for.
I don’t know that Katie was a true option. Just read that she was considered. Could be she had no interest.Wait, what? The UVA Athletic Director had a choice of Katie and chose the Mizzou State coach?

She's there and UCF doing everything they can to keep her.
So true.Just when we thought the style of play in the SEC couldn't get any uglier.
And Univ of Georgia has deep pockets…expect she’s gone, and will excel in the SEC, and yes, GA has lots of home brewed talentSo true.
Georgia is a state that produces very good women's basketball players. Can Coach Abe play a style that will be attractive to elite recruits?

From what I saw against UConn, her style of play is very consistent with the SEC. I was really impressed with her and believe she is an upgrade from Joni Taylor. Will be a great hire if Georgia lands her.So true.
