Wright State's Katrina Merriweather Moving On to Memphis. Pretty good -- even, surprising -- snag for the Tigers.
I thought Merriweather would be up for one of the B1G posts (Purdue, Wisconsin), but that obviously didn't happen. Figured it was time to make a move from the Horizon League.

A small correction, none of the players ever played for Purdue. Harris and Jernigan were released from from their LOI's and Phillips, who was a year behind them, reopened her recruiting.
If Langley takes the Washington job, that could mean Harris to Oklahoma.

Sort of like Sherri Coales maybe, retire or we just won't renew your contract? Sue's contract was up last year and her heir apparent was Brooke who, actually did a credible job- more so than Niele Ivey or Kyra Elzy who all took over programs that had talent. I could see FSU not wanting to lose her and allow a statement from Sue to bow out gracefully and then have Washington do a hard press (Cori Close chiming in as well) to get Sue as a Huskie.
That all makes too much sense for it to ever happen.

Found this from when Merriweather was hired as an AC at Wright State.
I recall she helped write a paper for one of the Purdue players and made a hundred impermissible phone calls to recruits, some of which were to DeeDee when her mother was gravely ill.
Happy she got a second chance.
Giving up a highly successful 59 year old coach because her assistant did a good job in one year with her players?
I still don't understand why they didn't give her a new contract in 2019 or 2020.....doesn't help recruiting usually
She should have been let go already, imo. This is just giving a sharp push down a steep hill, imo.
She has 1 year left at an estimated $950K+ and I think the buyout is 50% but that even is a bit rich for Vandy who's former AD bankrupted the Athletic Department with bad hires and overpayments on HC and assistants. The new AD is a former hoop player so I am sure she's acutely aware of everything and has already started her "secret search" and will be ready to move on from SW when the next season is over.
They had a great year and have a bright future
I don't know a TON about her. But she seems to be a pretty good recruiter and should have good connections in Texas because she was at Baylor and had a stint as a HC at Prairie View A&M. She was at Michigan most recently and they've had two pretty solid recruiting classes.Come on @DaBball you post just the tweet without any context of who the heck this person is and her background?
She's a very good recruiter and players seem to like her a lot.
