Back to offensive staff changes.

Did Diaco steal your girlfriend from you at some time in the past?First off, who says he knows far better than you? He hasn't proved it as a head coach. Second, that's not the bar he has to clear. He needs to know far better than the coaches he is facing, he needs to know far batter than other coaches we could have hired. I hate, hate, hate when fans fall back on "he knows more than me so he must know what he is doing" Neither side of that argument has to be true and in a lot of bad coaching cases neither side IS true.
wow, he wasn't the guy I'd dump... I thought the OLine was progressing... whoever was calling the plays though...Dez reporting that Foley is out

Hearing long time #UConnFootball assistant Mike Foley won't be back next season ...
I liked this post cause it made me laugh, but Diaco deserves to do it his way, with all of his guys. Come hell or highwater, its Diaco's ship to steer. I'm going to assume Cummings will be the oline coach, so the question is, where do we add guy?The second I heard about Foley, the only thing that came to mind was, "Holy dog-f#$k!" That's all that I could think of. Holy dog-f#$k. Holy f#$king dog-f#$k.
I look forward to finding out which football program picks Foley up 2 weeks from now and improves their offense by 50%. We can't get Todd Orlando. We don't keep Mike Foley. This is why we can't have nice things...

We had an open spot for Todd Orlando?
I believe he kept him on to maintain some level of continuity, and to keep a familiar face for the players. I would not be shocked if this wasn't sort of a mutual parting with Coach Foley looking for a place he fits in better. The last two coaches here have wanted him to share oline coach duties. He will probably welcome a fresh start. If this happened last year, I would say, "Well, we knew it was coming with a new coach." But why now? Why after a young offensive line was showing dramatic improvement? Why after they showed that they could clean up the sacks and open up some holes?
The man coached offensive lines that produced four of our most productive running backs of all time. That's how good he was / is, and that's how long he was good for. Does Diaco have the right to do it "his way"? Okay. That's what he's paid the big bucks for. But don't expect me to be very happy when I watch him throw away talent...
Clearly, we can make an open spot wherever we want, right? I mean, we've got an open spot on the offense right now also...
How can we even be sure he was such a great OL coach? Does this make the WR coach a great coach when Marcus Easley went from a Walk on to NFL draft pick? How about the individual that identified him as a worthy walk on,or all those thats deemed him not worthy of a scholarship. The second I heard about Foley, the only thing that came to mind was, "Holy dog-f#$k!" C'mon Dan - UConn/Diaco was gonna whack one of the two 1st year DC he hired to poach TO from USU?
Foley did this program well - but he was a two time survivor of coaching changes - It was inevitable to me. Sorry to see him not be a part of the program.
Interested to see who replaces him...

I haven't mentioned anything about a Fisher story. You're confusing me with UconnFamily. When do we give OC credit for the offenses success and not so much OL coach. 2 RB's in the NFL, both role playing backs. While they had college success which would point to the college staff, they didn't do it alone. Where does that leave us?Are you friggin' serious? Do you want me to name the running backs that ran behind his lines here? Do you want me to name the offensive linemen that made it on to NFL teams? Or are you just going to regale me with yet another Eric Fisher story. Anyone who was awake for the last 8 years as a UConn fan wouldn't post what you posted...

That's not really fair. SD. I mean Perfect Hair is likely to have had fare more extensive experience in the food service industry than Diaco. When you want fries no one cares if you have a plan they just want the damn fries.Tell me about the $1 million/year jobs you've had or have turned down in college football.
I'm curious if the industry values you more than Diaco.
You're clowning me. That's what you're doing. You're clowning me. I'm not going to answer you with words. I'm going to answer you with the following:
Will Beatty - NY Giants (current)
Donald Thomas - Colts (current)
Mike Ryan - Bengals
Dan Ryan - Dolphins mini-camp
Mike Hicks - Lions mini-camp
Steve Greene - Redskins camp
Those are the ones that I know off of the top of my head. I'm sure I'm missing info. Maybe even somebody like a Petrus or a Jimmy Bennett playing pro-ball. I don't know. You do the research. I'll let the above names speak for themselves. F#$king "role playing backs" indeed...
Did Diaco steal your girlfriend from you at some time in the past?
At the NFL level yes. Role playing they are. None of which are lead backs, running for 1,000 plus yards a year. They all had great careers at Uconn. I'm sorry, but aside from 2 OL (Beatty and Thomas) none are prominent every down starting players. While neither were expected to be NFL prospects, let alone FBS OL, 2 were drafted. Woo hoo.
Again, mini camp, practice squad. Nick Williams made it to some practice squads, should we laud the WR coach? Marcus Easley was drafted, should we applaud the WR coach and offensive staff?
We can agree to disagree, but I think you will disagree with everything I say and quite emphatically. Plenty of players end up in mini camps and on practice squads.

this is sarcasm, I get it.. just like PPGDL did for us.Why wouldn't he? Diaco and Cummings are best friends, and if its for the benefit of the team for him to step down then I don't see why he wouldn't do that.
