In money, sure. But not in terms of chances to succeed and play in the NBA. This is last year's 2nd round. The top 3 in terms of games played were on guaranteed deals (Camara, TJD, Jackson), but GG Jackson played 48 games on a 2 way deal and Jalen Wilson played 43 games. GG Jackson did this in Memphis, where Cam Spencer is

Interesting. Yet again, a lot has to happen. Last year in Memphis, a lot happened.

Cam looked very good today in the first quarter cutting and making shots. I understand this is the Summer League but he looks like the part

I watched this game and what I saw was a player who could still get to where he wanted on the court. When they went at him and made him play defense he held his own. He was the most complete -layer on the court for Memphis. Not the most spectacular but clearly he had the highest BBIQ on the floor of any player. You can see they are going to defend him by chasing him off the three point line as much as possible but he was still able to get into the lane create a shot for himself with his footwork or kick out to an open player at the three point. I hope he gets a chance to play…..for me he reminds me of a smaller/much smaller version of Larry Bird. Now I understand he is not a HOF player but when you watch him with his head fakes footwork and even how he defends players who are as big or bigger and faster he finds a way to cover them fairly well. Don’t sleep on Cam…..he is a player.

Cam looks well coached, very seasoned and NBAish. That Championship pedigree can be seen in his game. He just needs the right squad that can use and need his talents.

I wish I watched it. The highlights look great. the -7 when the rest of the starters were all a + number makes me wonder. He has NBA level craftiness. I can't believe in this era teams don't have room for a dude who can get buckets. He will be able to get buckets.

I think the Grizzlies fans over on their subreddit are growing fond of Cam.

They have room. Cam is an nba player. Look at Sam Hauser. That’s how fam will play, though cam has more well rounded game but not quite the size.

He may never be. Starter. But who cares? That kid can play

Yes. Cam and Steph both look more polished and appear to have a better understanding of the game than others on the court.

They're different players but it's an interesting comparison because while Hauser has a plus-skill (3-point shooting), the reason he was in the Celtics' playoff rotation is because he's turned himself into a decent defender. Nobody's focusing on it in Summer League, but we know there were games last season where Cam got roasted a bit. I have no doubt he'll put the work in to be as good an on-ball defender as possible, so hopefully he can have as good if not a better career than Hauser, who, unlike Cam, can only play off the ball.

Retire the lazy narratives, Celtics just ran through the NBA this season and the ball was popping all over the place

Yep.

UConn was credited with an assist on 63.7% of its made baskets this season (630/989) -- quite amazing.

How does that compare to NBA teams?

Celtics: 61.3% (2207/3601)

Pacers: 65.4% (2522/3855)

Not a single NBA team averaged less than 23.1 apg this season.

Hauser held his own defensively enough where teams had to stop Hauser hunting, yes he gave up buckets, but it was inefficient and difficult.

Cam looks like an accountant and isn't super quick laterally. That said, his competitiveness is what will help him defensively. Just make the shot difficult. He isn't a stopper. But as long as defenders aren't abusing him at a 75% clip he will be fine. With his offensive ability, it's about competitiveness defensively.

NBA isn't about one on one. Pacers, Nuggets, Celtics...any team that went hard ISO 1-1 as its focous loses.

You can't play like that. It is inefficient.

The NBA media, which thinks the 1-on-1 ISO of the Jordan Era is the creme de la creme, is annoyed with Jayson Tatum because he doesn't ISO on the win enough and score.

Celtics played 4-the out and 5-out entire season and were moving the ball all over the pass with repeated dives to the paint when they were going well.

UConn may have had one of the better offenses in NCAA history. That assist level is incredible for a college team. Unstoppable. Ball moves faster than legs.
