BYU Post Game Thread

We have the two stalwarts: Demery & Reed.
We have the mojo man: Karaban
We have unbelievable defensive wings.

Ross had his best game by a country mile and is starting to look consistent.

Overall, such a gritty win. It’s tough to hold a 20 pt lead against a top 5-10 team, and with their first test, they survived. The slowed pace hurt us, but not having Ball playing well and using Malachi a lot IMO is the reason the pace slowed for so long.

Dybantsa is going to make hundreds of millions of dollars. He is in a completely different galaxy from anyone else on the floor. Can I bet futures on the 2030 MVP? Like buttah.

It was a big win against a very good opponent. Ross looked great. Thought Reibe gave some solid minutes when he was on the floor. Need to clean up free throws and inbounding the ball. This is a very deep team where you can have players having an off night and you have other players who can pick up the slack, this is going to be a very fun team to watch this year. People are complaining about the refs, but I thought they called an even game... It wasn't like Maui.

Yet it continues to work. I understand it's frustrating to watch, but there's a reason Dan Hurley keeps doing it
Started taking the air out of the ball way too early. Important to keep the momentum and have good posessions. Should never have been a one possession game. With that said, they won. Learn, improve and move on.

J. Stewart was actually better than Ross against AJ especially in the first half. Stewart though was horrible on offense and sloppy with the ball. He really needs to clean that up. I think we will need both so I wouldn't same we should stop believing. He can explode on offense. I will say once Mullins comes back it will give us more diversity but having both Stewart and Ross involved helps on D. I think Mullins will help when Ball is cold. Playing Demary and Smith wasn't as effective as I though. Demary was the man but Smith was awful. Smith looks like he kind of lost out there and not sure what to do with the ball. Him stepping out out of bounds on a wide open 3 epitomes his game. Karaban is deadly frm 3 when hot but clearly isn't the go to guy. The thing that really got me annoyed was in the 2nd half with a clear advantage inside with no Keita for BYU we forgot about Reed and didn't really run any plays for him. That was a huge mistake.
Good point on Smith and Demary.

I thought both would really attack the full court pressure BYU applied, but we only attacked it effectively once.

Tough game. Made a lot of mistakes in the 2nd half that nearly cost them. 21 assists is good offense though. Beat a top 10 team in game 4 with serious game pressure in the 2nd half. They lose that game last year. Important win for seeding but even more important for experience in eventually closing out under pressure.
