Bowl math

With 3 teams winning, we are now at capacity.

3 more teams in the running that could mean 3 eligible staying home

+10.5 Auburn
+10 ULM
+3 NCSt
+3 Cincinnati
+2.5 AppSt
+1 Coastal

-1 Kansas
-1.5 Mich St
- 3 New Mexico
-11 UNT

just curious. Has there ever been a year where a team was eligible for a bowl and had to stay home?

Cincy and Applesauce State down at the half. We're gonna find out if TCU has 30 more minutes of cold weather football left in them.

The upside to this is that KU, Auburn & Mich St lost. Our chances are probably better to get a bid over G5 bowl-eligible schools rather than P4 bowl-eligible schools.

Only 1 team left with a chance

Even if New Mexico makes it, I think unlikely that 8-4 UConn is left out.

And only 1 of the 5 P4 schools won. Helps our cause.

Western Michigan , Toledo, Fresno, and New Mexico probably at the bottom
With UConn

The MW may not care if defector Fresno gets placed
The Sun Belt also has more teams eligible than are covered by their guaranteed tie-ins. I'm not sure a 6-6 Coastal Carolina or South Alabama is going to look more attractive than 8-4 UConn.

The southern schools have the built in advantage of bowl proximity in most cases, which will generally help with ticket sales.

May depend on who thd other team is.

What’s the lowest rung Sun belt bowl?

Both SA and CC host bowl games at their stadiums. That doesn’t mean they get picked there but I would bet against those 2 not ending up somewhere.
