Yes. He's quite good and has good potential. I'm very excited for what we'll do this year and beyond. There are a lot of good guys out there. We get wrapped up in a UConn bubble sometimes.

He's 86th in total points for all D1 freshman. 74th in win shares. 73rd in eFG%. 49th in BPM. He's 32nd in usage%. He was the 66th ranked recruit in the 247 composite.

And that's just freshmen. There were ~150 underclassmen and internationals declared for the draft last year, plus about 30 seniors with a realistic chance to be considered. That's 3x the number of people that think they have a shot than actually get drafted.

His numbers are maybe a bit skewed by a slower start, but even the rate stats don't have him in the top 30 or so freshmen. We'll see if he finishes the way he's been going lately, but at this point, no, I don't think he'd get drafted.

He'd be drafted on potential and stashed in the G league. I think the college experience would work better. With strength and a few improvements to his skills plus a better motor, he could be a star in one more year of college. The experience playing under the bright lights in packed arenas of the Big East against consistently good competition would be great for him.

There was an Akok reference in a post responding to. As for Bouk if he blows up next year he's gone. The world has changed but our 3-year stars that have excelled in the NBA are good pattern to follow and staying 3 years while his body matures maybe makes him a top 10 pick.

Rethink that, if you will. You really think 30 teams would pass on him twice? I just can't see that happening.

That said, I hope he returns and is a bona fide star as a Soph. That is said both selfishly as a UConn fan, but also likely in his best interest.

I can see him going the JLamb route. Lots of hype year 2 and first round guarantee.

yup, if you think about it, lamb got praise during regular season but his play in the BE and NCAA tourney rose his stock big time. not sure a ton of scouts will be at the NIT provided we get there. if this kid plays @ this level next year, A) have a good chance in the BE B) he’s a 1st rounder

Don't want the kid to leave and honestly I don't think he does unless we somehow sneak into the tournament and win a game or two with him leading the way. If that happened it might be enough exposure for him to be a late first round pick.. otherwise he would go somewhere in the second round I think, better off coming back to UConn imo.

I really want to see him and Jackson playing together next season. I hope he makes a huge jump. God knows we need it.

An orthopedic surgeon who specializes in foot and ankles. That’s what I was told and trust his opinion especially since he has operated on UConn athletes in the past.

It is really hard to project all but the top 5 or so players in the country into the NBA. If it was easy, NBA teams would draft better.

Bouk is an athletic, undersized 2. I don't know of a lot of NBA teams that need help at the 2 spot, so a player has to be pretty good to get drafted at that position.

But then again, I thought Romeo Langford was a slow, undersized 2 that couldn't shoot, and he got a guaranteed contract.

Putting my heart aside.
I could see if he went pro that he would be a perfect fit for a team late in 1st round. He's young and talented. A steal in that scenario.


A good team that doesn't need him year 1.
That said I think he gets NBA feedback and comes back.

All it takes is one organization, say Miami or Boston, with a very late first round pick who looks at Bouk and see's his potential, and believes they can develop him to achieve that potential, and he's gone. Especially after seeing what happened to Akok.
