I like his creativity with the ball. That's what I see being most shajazz-like. It's those plays where you're like "huh, I couldn't think of that move sitting on my couch, and he's running at full speed" that might mean he's turnover prone, especially when comp gets faster. Similar to our better PGs as they mature in that way, maybe.

His handle is not D1 ready. It's by his shoulders half the time in traffic, and his footwork with the ball in his hands is funky. I wouldn't be surprised if that is what has affected his rankings. This is the biggest difference between him and bazz other than size. Shabazz had a nasty handle in high
School.

and I wonder how consistent his shot is. A little bit low and funny looking, but serviceable for a coach to fix.

Size, athleticism and court vision are certainly a good starting point. Handles and shooting are two of the easier things to fix if he's willing to put in work

I agree that his passing is very similar to Shabazz but he attacks the rim stronger and has much better hops. Even a couple of threes reminded me of Shabazz. I don't like to get my hopes up especially lately but I'd be thrilled if we sign him.

He's strangely athletic.

He looks like Shabazz Napier going in for a layup, except the ball gets tomahawked instead.

Very effortless.

That's almost exactly what I was thinking... It's like a Shabazz game with, I dno, Ben Gordon effortless explosiveness.

I haven't seen or heard much of him before, but I must say I like the smoothness of his game and then add his sneaky athleticism.

Wow I know it's a highlight tape but that was extremely impressive. Like fishy said honestly reminds me a more athletic bazz.

A guy who actually had that would be top 5 in the class. That said, I think he would be a great addition. Just what we need.

He committed pretty early to Washington, so maybe that knocked down the buzz on him a bit.

The offers were pretty good - Florida State, Cincy, Clemson, Memphis, LSU, Miami, etc.

For some reason, I tend to favor the ESPN recruiting rankings and they've got him just inside the top 100.

If they can land him, given that he's a bit bigger and seems to be more of an offensive threat, that would really go a long way to erasing the MAL damage.

2.44 AST/TO ratio and 9.46 AST per 40 min in EYBL play. Pretty impressive for the level of competition he faced.

Give him a year of practicing against Jalen and Alterique and that should be alleviated a bit.

Good to know. I wonder what Jalen's were on the adidas circuit? His turnovers often seem more like mental lapses though. Possibly from fatigue

Agreed. He's still only a kid. He seems to have that natural vision in the court which I like. You really can't develop that with coaching, unlike a handle.

I have a different theory...

Probably best that you keep this kind of talk off a public forum...
There are a several realities in this world. I'm supportive of the lighthearted reality which those comments present. But there are two other realities that make those comments potentially dangerous. So hopefully the dudes who wrote them delete them on their own. Otherwise I've got to be the idiot who censors the idiocy.

I know this shouldn't have to be explained but it seems some are slower on the uptake than others.

This is a public forum and a notable public forum.

Parents come here, journalists come here and very possibly university mucky mucks come here.

It's hard to determine just plain harmless silliness versus what happens in Vegas should stay in Vegas.

I'd prefer not pushing our chances with something crazy happening even though I lean with the sentiment of posters I deleted.

Do some good. Continue the subject. Just discuss who at Duke, Kentucky or UNC love the stuff.

As a wise man once said, let he who is without sin throweth the first rock, and I shall smoketh it.
So that's how 'Rock' Lubin got his nickname. I assumed it was because he's a big dude.

Handle definitely needs some work. Looks like he has great court vision though.

Also, we need to start a drinking game for when people compare incoming recruits to previous legends of the program.

Loved the crispness of his passes. Great court vision. He was moving fast with those passes.

This thread reminds me of the Diamond Stone thread. Real good potential here, underrated thread.
