Tie game, they call a foul on Seton Hall on a bad baseline jumper by Baker-Mazara with 2 seconds on the shot clock, he wasn't fouled. Down 2 the ball goes off of USC and they give the ball to USC. To top it off they don't give Seton Hall the tie up with 3.4 seconds left, they give Baker-Mazara the timeout.

Bilas and Schulman don't even mention he was tied up.

If they're going to ignore the tie up and treat it as a play on, then they have to call the travel before the TO. That pivot foot was not planted the whole time. Feels like the correct order of calls should have been tie up --> foul --> travel --> timeout

This was one of the bigger hose jobs I've seen in a while.
Yep and it wasn't just at the end. Hall got hosed the entire game. They shot their first ft of the second half with a minute left in the game. USC shot 20 more free throws than Seton Hall and Ausar shot more free throws for the game than the entire Seton Hall team.

That game was not on the up and up.

Seton Hall got absolutely HOSED in that game. Refs should be fired & banned from doing another CBB game forever.

The 1990 Rumeal call may be the worst call in the history of college basketball.
Yep, I've always considered it the worst call ever in sports considering the circumstances. I watched it as a little kid with my dad, we couldn't believe our eyes and my dad was apoplectic. My grandpa went to Seton Hall.

It took away the chance for a little Catholic to throw a banner up. It makes me nauseous even thinking about it. Calling a full on ghost foul, no contact, in that spot, is unbelievable.

It really was a travesty. It denied Seton Hall the NCAA title they deserved and earned. Whenever I walk around in Cambridge in Central Square (1 mile from MIT and 1 from Harvard Square in the other direction) and I pass Rumeal Robinson Way I always think about that 1989 title game travesty.

Rumeal Robinson was from Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Meh day today. Would have been great if Seton Hall could've pulled it out.

Winners: St. John's and Villanova
Losers: Creighton and Seton Hall

Overall: 49-19 (9-15)

St. Johns gets a good opportunity to knock off another quality team today against Auburn. Seton Hall should take care of Washington State.

Important P4 games continue tomorrow.
Creighton vs. Oregon at 2:00
PC vs Wisconsin at 5:30
Also:
Georgetown vs Dayton 7:30

Creighton is really disappointing. I bought into the hype about their transfer class. Dix is solid but the center, Owen Freeman, is very limited coming back from injury. Graves and Swartz aren't giving much. Harper has potential. They'll miss Mcandrew, for sure. The Greer kid has impressed.

As others have noted, they look quite slow and don't have a Kalkbrenner to mask the athletic deficiency.

Sucks for Texas because they get Chaminade, the Division 2 School that hosts the Maui Invitational. Texas has nothing to gain from victory but plenty to lose on the resume if they lose the game.
Just curious. Why should anyone here feel any pain about Texas continuing to underperform?
No P4 gets any sympathy. We should all pull for Chaminade!

Never felt like a 6'10"unathletic kid out of a losing program in Iowa was going to replace Kalkbrenner. That is a steep drop off. A kid like Cluff is a better player.

They are a meh team that overscheduled. A lot of teams will look bad against Gonzaga and Iowa State this year.
